Surely in over my head, but that will not hold me back. Anyone have experience with aeroflo 36? Ive got a room to do whatever I please in. Need some go to people for when I have questions. What I have purchased so far Aeroflo 36 2 400 watt hps (had these already) Ph n ppm, ph up n down) 3x3 tent for mother(s) Cloneking 36 Spectrapure ro system Ect etc Things I am still in the market for Ac unit! How can I calculate the size o will need? Nutes! Everyone has a different opinion. Looking for someone who has actually used an aeroflo with success. Water chiller! Dont know much about these. My res is 40 gallons. What else do you think I will need??
I also run air con in summer, 12000btu cools my 2.4 x 1.4 metre tent, be sure to exhaust hot air outside or to different room. Chews the power but plants are happy. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
Sup 5 7, I have an Aeroflo 60 and I love it. Answers: To calculate the size of an AC unit you need just find hte cubic footage of your room (HxWxL) then go here http://www.energystar.gov/index.cfm?c=roomac.pr_properly_sized Nutes: I visited the General Hydroponics R & D facility and the director showed me three Aeroflo 36 units side by side. One was using the three base nutes from the GH Flora series (Micro, Grow, Bloom) one was using the GH organic series, and in the third she was running the GH Flora Nova series. Out of the three I could barely detect any differences in growth but the Flora series appeared slightly bigger. She told me that I really only needed the three base nutes so that what I'm using. See my thread under Single Cola Strain for Aero60. Check this out: http://generalhydroponics.com/site/index.php/resources/faqs/nutrient_and_flora_questions/ Do you need a chiller? Maybe. I have the 40 gal res too and in summer my soup temps got up to 80 several times. That high of a temp will encourage root rot and brown slime. So you may need a chiller. I'm working on a DIY chiller during the winter. I'm using a radiator and fan outside and will pump water thru a closed system from a wort chiller I put in my reservoir, then from there to the radiator (with a fan). I don't know if it will work but a cheap chiller is $500. You may not need a chiller for the 36 though as the grow chambers will pick up less heat from the lights. Also try to put the res up off the ground a few inches (I used 2x4's) so you can get circulation below the res. That might help. Once your plants fill in pretty good the temps will stabilize some due to the shade. But I put a thermometer in between the pump and the manifold so I can check my temps hitting the roots., Keep in touch, Brix
