Why is the United States the only country in the world where our intelligence is not top secret? It's because after Watergate, the policy was changed so that it would be more transparent. We don't even know what other countries do, because they will never reveal it. I'm not against torture when it's necessary, and it doesn't have to be secret - as long as nobody else's intelligence-gathering methods aren't, either. As for abuse, do you think that the Untied States is the only country in the world that has used harsh methods to get information about terrorism? Another interesting story, guards in a New Mexico prison would play a game they called the "snitch game". They would label a prisoner a snitch and wait for him to be abused by other inmates. They would then try to turn him into an informant for them and it worked almost every time. So pretty much the guards got men raped and beat the shit out of until they cooperated and became a snitch. Pretty brutal. Did you know that if a man and women we're convicted of the same exact crime, men spend over 60% more time in jail than women? Where are the feminists when you need them.
