Anybody know of something natural to block adrenaline?

    Pretty much what the title says, I'm interested to see if anybody knows of anything natural that you can use to block adrenaline. It can't be a nut or seed, and pot doesn't help either so please don't just suggest that over and over again lol

  3. There are alpha and beta receptor antagonists, like phentolamine or labetalol, typically prescribed for high blood pressure or issues due to vasospasm. Epinephrine (adrenaline) acts on both alpha and beta receptors, so blocking these receptors will lessen the effects of it. 
     
    Here's an article on a few things that act as beta blockers. I know little of how effective they actually are, though.

  4. you are probably looking for natural GABA-a antagonists ... like muira puama (although there is a ton of various ones if you google)... good luck though. 
     
    i'm curious why do you think you need to "block adrenaline"? 
     
  5. Unless.you are a caffeine.junky you shouldn't need beta blockers

    I went to a seminar for.music college and she talked about.musicians who use beta blockers to cancel stage fright, and how it actually harms their performance overall

  6. I get adrenaline rushes before a test and it makes my hands shake. I won't go into specifics but I need my hands for testing, and I need them to be calm. I don't drink coffee or pop or caffeinated tea, I don't have a lot of non-fruit sugars the day of, I study, and yet I still, without fail, about 2 minutes beforehand get these wicked adrenaline rushes that flushes my whole body and causes my hands to shake. Once I get about 3 minutes into testing, they settle down and it isn't so bad, but those first 3 minutes are pretty important. 
    I know it is just me, it happens whenever I think I'm about to get into a fight or when I'm about to lose my shit on someone. It also happens to me when I think something embarrassing is about to happen to me. I know it is a flight or fight response, I just want it to shut up during the test. I would take muscle relaxants or something along that vein, but I find that those tend to leave me a bit spacey and I don't react as quickly as I need to be able to.
    I have tried camomile tea before, I like the taste of it, but it doesn't really do anything for me, unless I am supposed to drink like 4 or 5 cups of it...?

    you have anxiety. it's not uncommon. but your case might be more severe, then some other people.

    I know what you mean about anxiety, because I used to have it pretty badly, but this is different. I know what anxiety feels like,it starts off sort of anxious and nervous and twitchy and restless. Then I feel like my heart is racing and I'm panicky and suddenly I start feeling a bit claustrophobic and trapped and I need to get out of the room. It isn't logical, it wasn't really triggered by anything, it just was. I think it was exacerbated by a hormonal imbalance, because it is nowhere near on the same level as it used to be and that is the only real thing that has changed. Right now I would classify it as minimal, not in need of medication. 
     
    This feels different. This is like....a sudden rush, followed by my hands shaking. My heart rate is fine, I don't feel like I'm going to panic or like I need to leave the situation. It only lasts for maybe 3 minutes, and it only happens before a test. If I were to sit down and do that exact same test an hour before hand and have it not be for marks, I would be fine. Its adrenaline, I really feel like that is what it is.

    anxiety is caused by release of adrenaline (in excessive amounts it leads to panic attacks, etc.). if you are interested, this is a good basic explanation:

    it can feel different from time to time, situation to situation... but he mechanism of how it works is the same. and is exactly what you describe.
     
    but then again, you are asking for a serious advice on an internet forum... i think if this is a real problem for you, it's best to speak with a professional.

  11. Why do you need to block adrenaline tho? If you feel nervous in a situation the best way to beat it is to put yourself in that situation lots and then you will just get used to it. I Don't really understand the question though.

    I think the problem is that the situation itself is a test, and an important one, I can't just keep going in and failing that is not conducive to passing or overcoming anxiety. in my opinion anyway. 
     
    If I go to a "professional", all that will end up happening is they will give me pills. Lots and lots of fake, synthetic, "oh don't worry they're good for you", pills.  Ativan, Seroquel.  No thank you. I've played that game before and it nearly killed me.
     
    I just thought there must be some sort of natural narcotic out there that can help with anxiety, one that only lasts for at the most 4 hours, so quick acting and short lived. Kinda like Khat's lazy cousin. 
     
    lol and it isn't badass Omega it is a total pain in my ass. I feel like I have all these great tools for dealing with anger or depression or apathy but I don't really have a good one for I guess anxiety? A new sort of anxiety I am not used to....
     
     
     
  13. ^^^ that depends on the "professional"... you already know better than to take the pills..
     
    - but you can also try CBD therapy. 
    - nutritional approach.
    - exercise, which helps to release adrenaline in healthy amounts. so your flight or fight response is not as intense.
