Lyme disease

Discussion in 'Medical Marijuana Usage and Applications' started by The_Green_Goblin, Dec 8, 2014.

  1. Hey guys and girls :)

Wondering if anyone here treats Lyme disease with weed? And if so, what strains have you found work best for your symptoms.. I contracted it over in Europe and has ruined my knees, elbows, nerves, skin, thyroid and even my sex drive..

I've made amazing leaps in progress thanks to the green. But I want to heal even more. So hoping someone can tell me some good strains and how well you're doing.. Lymies have to stick together.

  2. I don't have Lyme disease personally, and I wasn't even aware that cannabis can help treat Lyme. Just did a bunch a of reading on it, and cannabis yet again proves it's usefulness to the world

I wish you a speedy recovery, friend

Thanks mate :) doing what i can. I have an amazing doc who it totally supportive of my cannabis treatment. He has sent teenagers with terminal brain tumors to Seattle to get treatment (successful treatment, mind you).

So just seeing who uses what for what condition :) really interesting how one plant can do so much

  5. Pretty awesome, huh?

I was thinking about getting some oil and treating that way as well. But I really enjoy smoking.. I actually enjoy one kind of medicine and it's making me feel so much better - all natural, too.

So blessed to have been pointed in this direction, and now I am a member of a pretty damn cool forum too ;) love learning from everyone!

  7. I've had Lyme disease for years now aslong as Bell's palsy when I first got any symptoms. I got treated and the
Symptoms of Lyme still come around seasonally. I find any indica dominant hybrid helps ease the pain in my joints and gives me an slight energy boost so I don't feel as fatigued.

  8. I've been making some CBD coconut oil caps for a friend with Lyme's, and while she's fighting an infection like she has had to many other times before, this is the first time that she's been able to retain the use of her knee the whole day.

She has a slew of other things she does too, but she certainly uses CBD internally, coconut oil baths and lotions topically for pain, and then smoking or vaping as needed. But she definitely prefers an indica or a sativa, not hybrids, could be a personal thing tho.

  9. I personally knew someone who passed a few years ago from lyme disease. So-So wish I knew about cannabis then as I do now ( how many people will be saying that over the next few years?!?!). the lemony strains might be a good choice to concentrate and use for the condition.

  10. I am treating with Tahoe Kush. I also use double black for daytime usage. Working so very well. Getting the right dose is key. But I am starting to feel like myself again. .. even after less than a week.

  11. I contracted Lyme disease when I was 11 months old. Spent the first 18 years of my life thinking weed was just some recreational drug, and the past 5 treating myself with it. About 2 years ago I was also diagnosed with Crohn's, (like my cousin, who also had Lyme) and finally got my medical card. Since then it's become an essential part of my daily regimen.

CBD helps with brain inflammation and joint pain, especially strains with balanced ratios (I use Star Tonic @ 2:1). I highly recommend juicing buds for the strongest anti-inflammatory effects along with garlic, turmeric, and other medicinal produce.

Many mushrooms contain anti-inflammatory, immunomodulating, and adaptogenic substances. I use red reishi (tincture), but shiitake, lions mane, and cordyceps are all solid choices. Other fungi of choice include chaga and the birch polypore, both of which were carried by Ötzi the iceman (who also had lyme).

Although Cannabis helps with the symptoms, it shouldn't be regarded as the "solution". The truth is that we are still infected with (probably several strains of) parasitic bacteria which our westernized micro-biomes just can't handle. The SAD (sad american diet) provides ample food for them to thrive on, while reducing the population of beneficials.

The knowledge is becoming more widespread and lyme specialists are starting to pop up all over. My aunt (for example) runs a private practice in northern Wi that's been gaining traction. New treatments are being tested everyday.
