So I've been very blessed by the ganja gods recently and have actually gotten to trade some work for almost 10g's of different kind of bho and hash. I got really sick of topping bowls and rolling up little snakes into joints though so I broke down and bought the cheapest rig at the smoke shop which of course is going to be dry. I think the idea is genous and like owning the piece on that basis alone. It smokes fine, just like it should. My only beef with it though is it needs cleaning every 10-20 dabs though because the nail starts sticking and doesn't drop through unless you jiggle it. I've hit two other dry rigs, both much much nicer than mine. One a domeless rig with some amazing work on it, i couldn't stop staring at the piece. Then my homie has a convertible dry/water piece with some pretty awesome worked sections. Lets see what you blades and bladies have for dry rigs!
I've always noticed this with dry herb, never dabbed more than twice from water though so I wouldn't really know there. It seems like the difference in taste would be less than with herb though.

I just soak it in 99% iso, then reclaim all the goodness. Takes quite a while longer than cleaning with iso + salt.
For sure, I thought about that a few hours after posting. lol and yea, the dome is essentially attatched to the stem and the nail just drops down into the dome once you pick it up. (idealy, thing gets sticky and stuck after 5 dabs, then you have to smack it with the torch tip to get it to drop.)
