what is the most potent edible concentrate?

Discussion in 'Weed Edibles' started by BigMoneyChutney, Dec 3, 2014.

  1. I usually make coconut oil, so that's around a gram of bud and a bit of oil, but people tell me there's ways of getting even more thc into even smaller things, how? I can't believe there isn't more potent doses around

  2. I suppose if you run enough high quality bud in the same alcohol solution (like a tincture) then you should be able to have some one-drop and you're into space stuff. Which would be the highest potency / volume dosage that is considered edible or oral.

  3. yeah that sounds good, you mean like drinking alcohol or iso?

I've made my strongest mixture with finely ground weed dissolved in 96% alcohol vodka. I use a thermometer to make sure I have the temperature just below the evaporation point of alcohol which is about 78 degrees Celsius (173 F). The last batch I made had about 5 or 6 grams of good weed in it and it was nice. After heating the weed/alcohol mixture for 10 - 15 minutes (on a stove), I evaporated it down to 20ml so my friends and I could have 1ml dosed from a tincture dropper. After having 1ml of the stuff I felt as high as 2 or 3 big hits from a bong might make me feel :p. One of my mates got a bit greedy and had 5 or 6 ml and he ended up looking all pale while he sat on my couch unable to speak, so yea he kinda greened out.

I have dissolved weed in other things like butter and oil, but alcohol seems to work best for me.

  5. I make all my edibles now with concentrates; it allows for really thorough, even activation and really high dosing.

  6. More potent does than "bud"? Bud is not a concentrate.

Get a hold of some caviar and make edibles with that. Good luck.

  7. I don't think you understood my question properly, I mean more potent doses that what I'm currently making

Captain Obvious suggests, to increase the potency of your edibles, try using more than a gram of bud.

  9. I used a quarter ounce for a stick of butter. Boy was that ever potent

  10. maybe captain obvious should read the title - "concentrate" is what I'm looking for, not just a shit ton of weed in my food

  11.
You're supposed to strain out the weed, silly! :)

Anyway here is Capt. Obvious' new suggestion: next time you make brownies, instead of using 1g of weed, use 1g of concentrates instead. Your brownies will be more concentrated.

  12. ok great, now that just leaves me with 1 question, the original one

  13.
Either I don't understand the question, or you don't understand my answer (the more THC you put in the recipe, the more concentrated the edible will be).

  14. "concentrates" are when you make an extract from cannabis, then reduce it down to a tiny amount of something that has the same effects as a huge amount , that is what I'm after, a method of making a concentrate

Medical grade edible canna-oil IS a concentrate. You are using vegetable oil as a solvent to extract and concentrate the medicine from the plant. Instead of having to eat a big bag of weed, you just have to eat a little bit of oil. "Concentrate."

You can make edible oil with bud, hash, oil, wax, shatter, etc., and the more THC you put in, the more potent the edible will be. If you want to get wicked high, then use a large quantity of the most potent material you have access to.

Since you only used 1g in your first batch of edibles, I'd say you've barely scratched the surface of what edibles can do for you. A sensible next step would be to double the dosage to 2g. Be careful, exactly follow the recipes step-by-step, and always have fun. :)

  16. Dude its not that hard. Do an iso wash (google it) then put the results of that into your butter/oil? Thats even a little unnecesarry, just soak 1g of bud into the oil then strain out the bud, and put new fresh bud back into the oil mixture and rinse/repeat till its as potent as you like
