Indian music appreciation thread

    indian music is a massive field of good music and generic bollywood songs, i want to create this thread to post the songs i consider to be the real pearls of india, and i would say im pretty good at judging that :), ill start out with a song from the queen of indian singinging Lata Mangeshkar, this is ofcourse sung by an actress, as most indian songs are playback songs, eg a singer sings and and an actress performs it, the song title means '' i wonder why people fall in love ''

    dude nice thats awesome. Teen taal starts as the basic taal to learn.  Its a 16 beat; however, there are thousands of variations and some of them are incredibly advanced, squeezing multiple tekhas in 16 beat time.  
     
    this is zakir hussain.  One of the most amazing tabla players known in the world.

    this is a classic singer, this is the style they used to sing in the courts of the kings of india, this guys ancestors and teachers did that for like centuries.

    amazing.  I went to a few classes for a guy who travels around the world giving classes/lectures.  They are rather expensive but he definitely has talent and knows how to teach singing and classical indian music.  His ancestors were also singers and raagis for kings and gurus.

    here is one of the best modern pakistani/indian muscians, it has english lyrics too so if you dont speak urdu you can understand the song, but even if you cant its an awesome song :)
