Staying HIGH and HEALTHY

  1. I'm new to Grass city. ☺ I was just wondering what some of you folks out there did to keep smoking the good gan, whilst staying healthy. :)

  2. 3 simple steps

1: Do the normal healthy stuff (diet exercise lots of sleep)

2: dont smoke. - Vape or eat. Don't smoke. People say weed smoke is less bad than cigarette smoke and that somehow makes it harmless. All smoke produces carbon monoxide. Its a byproduct of a combustion reaction involving carbon and oxygen. CO- is a carcinogenic compound. Meaning its consumption over time increases the risk of cancer. Weed is less carcinogenic than cigarettes however; cancer is random. Basically all carcinogenic compounds are cumulative and increase the overall risk of cancer appearing (mutating actually). So yea. Don't smoke.

3: use responsibly. You wouldnt get drunk all day, so dot don't get high all the time. Addiction and addictive behavior are unhealthy in general. Smoking during the day or in the morning will make you tired later in the day. (Weed actually stimulates the production of sleep chemicals in the brain).

  3. ^^^ nailed it

  4. Cancer, sir, most certainly is not a random illness. The flu is a random illness.

  6. Take your Omega 3! (I'll be passing out pieces of paper at the Santa Rosa Cup event this weekend explaining why you need it! Here's the text)

You have all heard that Omega 3 is “heart healthy”, but the need for Omega-3 goes much further than that! To heal you, (and also to get you high), THC and the other cannabinoids activate CB receptors. To properly make these CB receptors, you absolutely need Omega 3 in your diet. The average American diet is very low in Omega 3.

In the abstract, “Nutritional omega-3 deficiency abolishes endocannabinoid-mediated neuronal functions” available at PubMed, http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21278728 , it is noted that in the absence of Omega 3, new CB receptors are left “uncoupled” from the next piece in the endocannabinoid system, the G i/o effector protein This results in something like a speaker with a loose wire- everything is there, but not hooked up! Too many “dud” receptors and your endocannabinoid system becomes damaged, and less able to heal you. (This damage can also reduce the effect of the THC high which is an “endocannabinoid-mediated neuronal function”.)

The results of a deficiency of Omega 3 combined with an overabundance of Omega 6, as found in the average American diet, are discussed in the PubMed study, “The importance of the ratio of omega-6/omega-3 essential fatty acids” http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12442909 where it was found that “Excessive amounts of omega-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) and a very high omega-6/omega-3 ratio, as is found in today's Western diets, promote the pathogenesis of many diseases, including cardiovascular disease, cancer, and inflammatory and autoimmune diseases, whereas increased levels of omega-3 PUFA (a low omega-6/omega-3 ratio) exert suppressive effects.”

You can learn more about the Omega-3/CB receptor connection by getting your free copy of “Granny Storm Crow's List”. Just email me at stormcrow@greenpassion.org and I will send you my list of medical studies and articles.

In other words, Omega 3 (after about a month of using it) will improve the health of your endocannabinoid system, which in turn will increase the quality of your high, and enable cannabis to heal you more efficiently!

  7. Great posts everyone!

  8. I've been eating 3-4 tablespoons of coconut oil mixed with hemp seeds and my vitamins crushed in (and chocolate) and after a few weeks, my highs were better.. didn't eat any this week cause I'm being lazy with the holidays and took a break cause it seemed like my body wasn't actually digesting the hemp seeds, so it was making me wonder how much omegas I'm actually getting from them.

  10.
Most cancers are pretty unpredictable as to who might be a victim.

Flu is caused by the flu virus.

  11. Eat well, sleep well, DRINK plenty of water , and yes, reduce the amount you smoke, I have heard but not confirmed with any source/exceptions of a growing book , that cannabis can slow down white blood cell development , so if your sick, DO NOT SMOKE CANNABIS . And for last on the list, lot's of exercise <--(This is a big one).

I fucking love to smoke weed, to the point where I have coughed myself a hernia and my life has been like shit ever since (no joke) and I still smoke to this day. just with a lot more responsibility.

the moral of this. Get high responsibly, and in a healthy fashion. Don't let marijuana take over your life like it did for me, but have it enhance it .

I never wanted to admit that smoking cannabis "in result of getting my hernia" would ever impact my life in a negative way , but shit happens,

  12. Exercise and eat real food. Keep your stress low, meditate.

So why don't you get the hernia fixed? I've had three done -- one in the '80s and a double in late 2013. Most of them can be done with a scope nowadays, which is what I had last time.

I'm old and was pretty sore for a couple of days but recovered quickly -- much quicker than I did with open surgery the first time.

Heh, interesting -- the doc asked me if I had a chronic cough (I don't), he said it can be a cause.

  14. 1. Drink plenty of water: when you wake up, before and after meals, whenever you feel thirsty
    2. Get a minimum of 5 hours sleep every night
    3. Exercise for 30 minutes 3 times a week. Weights or cardio is fine as long as you're moving about.
    4. If you're smoking, use bongs because the water filters more bad stuff out.
    5. Don't smoke more than everyday for 2 months straight. Take a 3-4 day t-break every two months or less.
