Organic supplies in Canada

Discussion in 'Growing Organic Marijuana' started by Da-Lu, Nov 28, 2014.

  1. Hey wondering if anybody knows any Canadian sources for supplies such as aloe Vera powder, neem meal, general organic amendments/supplies. I can't seem to find any!

I ordered from build a soil a while ago but I think due to the powders, it's probably held up at customs.

  2. Canada is a fairly large place. You may want to be a little more specific. It's many thousands of miles across in all directions as I'm sure you already know; it will help others recommend sources closer to YOU.

  3. As long as they ship it doesn't matter. I've checked every local place.

Here's a link to stores that carry products from Gaia Green which includes Canadian Glacial Rock Dust, i.e. they own the whole deal from their mine in Grand Forks, B.C.

On neem oil contact Ms Rau at NeemResource.com for up-to-date information. About 3 years ago there was some chatter (blather) on weed boards that there was a 'new regulation' regarding neem oil and it was my understanding that karanja oil & meal were not affected. She would be the one that could give you accurate information.

Aloe vera - how much would you want to purchase? Keep in mind that 1 gram of the 200XX powder give you 200 grams of straight aloe vera juice - sometimes called 'extract' or whatever. Essential Wholesale in Portland, Oregon has organic 200XX aloe vera powder that is OTCO (Oregon Tilth Certified Organic) as well as USDA Certified Organic.

This should give you enough vendors to take care of business for you...

  5. Thanks coot!

I will definitely look into your been and aloe contact.

I love Gaia! I have their Glacial rock dust, alfalfa meal, kelp meal and all purpose 4-4-4 products.

I can find pretty much everything locally except crab/crustacean meal, aloe Vera powder, agsil16h, powdered coconut water and neem meal. I did order all of that stuff from build a soil but I hink getting that stuff from the states may be a pain.

  6. Good old Amazon. Got aloe powder and neem oil.

With the exception of alfalfa meal, Canada is the main supplier of organic soil amendments: canola, flaxseed, camelina, kelp and soybean meals. Were it not for the strict production standards in Canada, American organic farmers and gardeners would be in a real mess.

Having said that the Canadian commercial vermicompost is 'without merit' and is used in the so-called 'premier potting soils' that hit the weed boards - FoxFarms, Roots Organic, Black Gold, Vital Earth, Bare Foot Organic, SubPar's TGA mess (aka super soil) and the rest. The issue with this material is the food stock used in the vermiculture operations.
