  4. I bought a girlfriend ferrets before.  We had a big ass Ferret Nation home for them.  It was as tall as I am maybe a lil taller. NEVER BUY A GIRLFRIEND PETS!  Especially Ferrets.

They actually smell wonderful if they aren't trapped in a cage next to a shitbox all day and bathed every couple months.  They are too much fucking maintenance though.  They need AT LEAST 6 hours outside the cage per day, preferably more.

.... and they pretty much need to be supervised that whole time or else you will have holes in everything, and they will steal your shit and stash it in the walls or couch or wherever they made a hole.

They are amazing animals just not for everyone. They are extremely fun to play with and watch them play. Not for many people at all to tell you the truth.

  5. thanks guys for the comments...appreciate it

  6. I purchased an adorable panda ferret kit. He was fucking adorable, the way he would hop bounce was cool too.

Other than being cute, they produce heavy musky scents, their urine and feces are incredibly strong as well.
They will chew on anything rubbery, anything.
And you might as well hang all your keys on a chain on your pants, as they love hiding stuff in places human hands cannot reach.

I would never own another ferret again, ever.
I currently have aquariums, they're so awesome when you're blown and you drop in some food and stare at them.

    I agree 100%.  Never again.

and nothin like zoning out on the aquarium and watching your fish. So relaxing.

  8. After working at a pet store for years, I'd much prefer two ferrets to a 75 gal or bigger aquarium, but smaller tanks are way way way less maintenance to keep up with. But who wants a 20 gallon anyways?

  9. I have had fish tanks and ferrets in the past and I really liked both. To me the smell of the ferrets were not that bad and I did not mind it at all just don't bathe them all the time and the smell won't be as strong. Remember you can pet and play with ferrets but not fish but you can chill and watch the fish. Get both.

  10. I smoked with a kid who had three ferrets and they would stick their head in the bong and shit haha

  11. I've seen them in the wild up close; they don't seem to have much fear of humans. Just relentlessly active, hunting and roughhousing. I remember wondering how in the hell could someone try to make a pet out of these dudes.

  12. They may be the same family ,but there the similarity stops

The domestic ferret is from the wild polecat, took years for warreners to breed a litter that could be handled.

Trust me i have had a wild european polecat kit.and it constantly drew blood everytime i tried picking it up. Lol

  13. Go for the aquarium. Ferrets are nasty fuckers. They have stink glands just like skunks.

  14. A former roommate had two for the last few months we lived together. I had entirely forgotten that happened until just now.

They were alright, if troublesome a lot of the time. With three college bros living together with competing stenches, the smell from the ferrets wasnt very noticeable. I wouldn't have them, but I also wouldn't have any small, rat-like pets.

    I'd go with the aquarium.

Ferrets smell like ass. Anyone who says they don't are just used to the smell. Kinda like when u smoke weed and you can't smell it on you but others can. Same thing. You and your place will smell like zoo but you might not notice it as much as people visiting

I've been wanting to get some kind of pet for a few months.  My first choice would be a dog but my apartment won't let me get anything over 35 pounds...  and I'd want a pit, plus there's a bunch of fees and shit I can't really afford right now.

I looked into ferrets.  I've read they can be fun if you have a ton of time to take care of them.  but if you don't have the time for it, you really can't do it.

I'm highly considering getting an aquarium.  not anything huge.  I don't really have a ton of space, just like an average sized desk in my room it would go on.  I just don't want anything to spike up my electric bill too crazy, cause I split it up with my room mates.  and it's pretty expensive already.

I guess I'm kind of in the same situation as you.  except I'm not considering a ferret.

My parents had like 6 or 7 of them. I also didn't think they smell that bad. I'll have to ask my friends how bad it was. A couple of the ferrets were cool as fuck but the other ones were really annoying. They are cute when they play and when they would play with the cats it was really fun to watch. Just remember they have a lot of health issues and they sleep a lot. Also, we have no interest in owning anymore.

Aquariums dont use too much electricity. Cheapish fluorescents are fine unless you have plants in the tank. The filter and heater are always running but thats comparable to a refrigerator, but even less electricity used. Go for a small tank, just keep up on the water changes!

Edit- fun fact, ferrets dont exist in the wild anymore, they are solely domesticated.

  19. How so? The black footed ferret is endangered not extinct.

  20. Can you slaughter 15-20 ferrets and make a stinky fur coat?
