Small auto fem auto flower needs help please

Discussion in 'Sick Plants and Problems' started by DRgreenHUM, Nov 26, 2014.

  1. Hi I have a few problems. I have a choice of cfl or led bulbs. Two 14w cfl 1600 lumens together. Or 2 leds, one 19w flood light and one directional 4w led. They seem to be doing ok. My plant has had a little stress. Can someone tell me what's happening? Btw I am growing it in a mixture of mg organic and regular mg soil, lights are 23in away and temp is regulated with fans and my lighting period is 18:6. The plant is also an indoor mig29 autofem autoflower. Please help? :) ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1417024540.529674.jpg ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1417024592.250643.jpg

You can get a cheap light meter from amazon for less than $20. May not be NASA accurate but its great for comparing two light sources. Also, given similar lumen outputs, it would be the spectrum of the bulb that matters most.

I have used those 23W cfls before and I would say 23" is way too far away. Thats a good distance for a medium wattage MH or HPS light, but you can put those CFLs much closer. Too far and you'll not get sufficient lumens or necessary penetration (a problem with CFLs even when they are close to the canopy, since they cant penetrate the upper leaves).

What temperature are you reading at canopy with your current setup during lights on period? If it isn't too high I would move them as close as you can while not exceeding 77(ish) F. Also I like to keep a thermometer (the kind that logs high and low temp) right at canopy level directly under the bulb.

Sorry I can't speak to the dying leaves- I would maybe guess underfeeding but I will defer to someone more knowledgeable about that. As always tho when using MG, make sure its airy enough, add plenty of perlite and don't overwater or use large pots at first.

  3. MG burns up plants. It is also time released so adjusting PH is really difficult.
