Not really. Birds are no more free than any other creature. We are all deterministic machines acting based on circumstances and prior events. We are not the authors or our actions, and neither are birds. All animals are constrained by the features of their physical embodiment, and radical autonomy does not exist. Birds are not free to fly out of the earth's atmosphere, for example. So no.
