Hi everybody! I am a fairly new user, probably started 5 months ago and normally smoke/vape 2-3 times a month. This weekend I kinda went over board smoking two times on Saturday and 2 times on Sunday and then I decided to wake and bake on Monday. By the end of the sesh on Monday  I was feeling a little dizzy and sick to my stomach. I decided I would just sleep it off. When I woke up I had come down but my stomach was still fairly nauseated. I stayed like that for about 24-36 hours. It seemed to come in waves and while I never threw up I was pretty close. So has this ever happened to you? I hope I'm not allergic or something! Maybe I smoked too much. Interestingly I had the same thing happen when I tried edibles. My sis smoked with me and was fine so I don't think the weed was bad. Any insight would be appreceated!

  2. Too much and or u swollowed smoke. Try not to do that. It can make ur stomach upset for awhile an make you bloated + other things. You will be fine not deathly or anything.

    Think before you do!

  3. Doesn't greening out go away after you come down? I just found it wierd that I felt shitty for like a whole day after!

  4. Want the physiology hat caused this, or just advice on dodging it, and coping if it happens again?

  5. Any and all would be appreciated indie-kah!!

Physiology is that some cannaboids are vegus nerve complex agitators.
Vegas complex is responsible for, among other things, coping with physical stressors (triggers all the symptoms leading to fainting as it tries to AVOID a faint), and sensations of hunger, nausea, or being full.

This is part of the "why" of how your vision acts when even the least stoned (start having issues with peripheral vision, tracers), why you start having delays in adjustments to balance (inner ear phenomenon), and so on...it's why the munchies, it's why some people get nauseous off just a little, while some can eat greasy pork chops after smoking a full ounce...HOW the complex interprets the effect does it.

So if its stimulated to give you the munchies (to feel empty), no matter how much you eat, until you're so stuffed there's urgent pressure saying that regardless of feeling hungry, you're full up, you'll feel hungry (sound familiar, Cheetos fans?).

What this means is if you're one of the unfortunates who feels a bit queasy when you stand up too fast and get that moment of dizziness, pot's going to do that to you every time you get noticeably stoned. If you're NOT one of those folks, then it'll only happen when you get TOO stoned (your body REALLY kicks in on "imitating the symptoms of a fainting spell")

When will it wear off? Varies. Mostly it depends on dosage of certain of the CB cannaboid family balances (I think it's the CBAs involved with the vegus complex, but it could be the CBGs...I forget). Takes a bit of time to unbind them from the "nerve triggers". Similar to how CBDs suppress seizures and some palsy symptoms, and various doses will impact how long this works effectively.

I can go find the study regarding cannaboids and vegus nerve complex, if you like, but it'd be simpler for you to look up the complex, what it's responsible for, and think about what's going to happen when you stimulate or suppress its natural behavior. Then, no matter WHAT aspect you experience, you'll know exactly what it is, and know that it's "not a worry, it's a perfectly normal reaction, man". Which makes it a lot easier to enjoy the high.

Wow dude thanks for the info! Yeah the main thing that shocked me was how long it lasted, but I definitely think I smoked too much.

  8. Maybe you had low blood sugar from not eating (wake n bake). Weed lowers blood sugar itself, so that probably caused to you to feel dizzy... But then again, you say it lasted for over a day. Are you sure you didn't overeat? Or maybe you didn't eat enough in those 24 - 36 hrs....

  9. Yeah I didn't eat much that may have been a contributing factor
