I've looked everywhere for a cabinet to transform into a stealth grow box. Im not terribly picky on the height and width but I need it to be at least 24" deep to fit my cool tube. Does anyone know where I can find one like that, or have a design for one that isn't going to look suspicious just chilling in my living area? Everything I've found is fine height and width, but to find one that is deep enough is proving to be nearly impossible.
Comb the "thrift shop" stores (Salvation Army, Value Village) looking for an armoire (mobile coat closets like the one they went through in the Narnia books, or the clapping hands came out of it that...what's the name?--horror movie where mom was blindfolded, and trying to find the kids through the clapping). Make certain you sand, and water-seal the interior properly and let it sit until ALL fumes are gone before using, though (helps avoid humidity and fungus issues). Don't get a cedar one...great for furs and coats, rotten for a grow cabinet.
I'll go check out the thrift and habitat for humanity stores today. Thanks for the ideas. Why not cedar? I thought that it was good for keeping bugs away but did not harm the plants.
Cedar retains humidity, and the smell/taste transfers. It also keeps MOTHS out, not "bugs in general".
Good to know, I almost bought a cedar armoire the other day because it looked real nice and was cheap. Thanks for that info.

Search Sterlite Storage Cabinet Walmart on Google. Every walmart carries them and it's about 44 bucks. Heavy plastic so it's durable (cut fan holes with box cutter/drill). Such a great cab. If you have the space could be a good veg/flower combo.
