eBay USA Made Ti nail 14

  1. Just received this eBay Ti nail. It's a domeless 14mm female. The seller is a machine shop that actually makes a lot of different metal parts, titanium dabbers, etc. They told me the price was so low because it's discontinued. It seems to be good quality. I haven't hit it yet. I was planning to season it with the water method (heat up to red hot, dunk in water, repeat 3 times).

I think it's safe. It's a crazy price. Here is the seller's link:

    I am not the seller.

  2. That's not how you season a nail.

Torch the whole thing red hot once, it gets off any polishing compounds or oils or anything from machining.
Let it cool on its own all the way, then get it to just begin to get red again, give it 15 seconds, and paint reclaim onto every part vapor will come in contact with, drop globs down the tube and everything. Repeat twice for best flavor, then just treat it like any other nail from then on.

If you don't have any reclaim than just torch the whole thing red once to get the polishing compound off.
    Never get it red again.
Never dunk it in water. This just speeds up the oxidation process, meaning you have to get a new nail sooner. you can see it before your eyes, the entire nail turns white when you dunk it in water. Just don't.

And i would never trust a nail for $14, at all. I wouldn't use that if it isn't necessary. And it's not.

Thanks! I saw a youtube video and just assumed it was golden. Thanks for setting me straight. Love the community.

  4. Please do not dunk it in water. If you have no reclaim you can use grape jelly believe it or not
