How good is the ascent vape?

  1. hey blades i was wondering how good is the ascent?

  2. Its above average for a portable imo. Hit size is above average, efficiency is average to below average, taste is above average. Plus Its pocket able and easy to use.

  3. a lot of people told me that the pax sucks compared to it

  4. It does suck compared to the ascent imo.

  5. It's very good recently got mine only problem I would say is the cleaning

  6. I half heatedly agree with this. While the ascent is rather easy to clean, just remove glass stems and soak in iso, it does get dirty rather quickly. I almost dont believe how fast mine builds up with residue as it definitely builds up faster than any another vape I own.

  7. I know how you feel about the resin. Try some methyl hydrate works wonders.

  8. ascent is one of the best portable vaporizer ever made. Sleek-style, long lasting battery, adjustable temperature and can be use while charging. It thoroughly cooks loose-leaf and concentrates.

  9. Sold mine a week after I had it.     It just didn't fit the way I like to vape.

  10. Why did you sell it so fast? Im assuming efficiency but I cant remember your posts about it right now.

Yeah, that was it.    With the way I vape, I need a vape that can instantly apply and remove the heat.    If I was the kind of vaporist whose session lasted for 7 to 8 hits in a row, I would have liked the Ascent a whole bunch better.     And, btw, for the exact same reason, the S&B portables wouldn't work out for me either, but they too are excellent vaporizers.

But yeah, the Ascent is a very well designed and well put together vape.

I think what's equally important as if a vaporizer is a good one or not, is does this vape work for me and the way I like to vaporize.   Most people don't ask that question and I think the reason why they don't is because they think all vaporizers work the same way and it's just a matter of how well a particular vaporizer is made, hence the question, "Is vaporizer "A" better than vaporizer "B", and the answer could be, "For you, "A" may be better but for me, "B" is better.".

  12. I've really been looking into getting the ascent, thanks Iwein for your first hand experience. I'd assume my vapeing style to be similar to yours(never vaped on the go). So what you're saying here is once the ascent heats up it stays heated for a bit and just continues to vape your bud after you've stopped your session? How long would you say this occurs and I'm curious what portable do you prefer for your vape needs?

  13.
So what vaporizer works good for you?  I think we are similar in the sense that when I want to vape, I am going to want to vape up just one or two hits and go about my business.  I usually only want a little here and there while I'm working or mucking about the house.

  14.
Your bud is constantly being cooked as it's heating up, in between hits and as it's cooling down.

Any vape that will allow me to instantly apply and remove the heat so that the only time my bud is being vaped is when I am inhaling.

I'm currently using the LSV, the MFLB and the FlashVape which all do this.   Other vapes such as the FireFly, the Buddha, the SSV and a bunch of other vapes do this as well.

  15. How are you digging the flashvape? I remember one of your first posts about it, but haven't heard much about it since.

  16. Dang, I was in love with the ascent because of many reasons......looks, chamber size, battery life, all glass internal, portability and taste. All from what I've read, I haven't tried it thou. What would you use for these things I've mentioned and still has the ability to vape oil?

  17.
Hell of a learning curve.    I've NEVER combusted with any vape that I ever had, but with this one, I've combusted about 4 times already.   There is a real fine line between too hot and not hot enough.     No gray area here, but when I hit the sweet spot, I like it a lot.

Need a few more days to see if I can finally dial this in.

  18. Godspeed I love manual temp vapes and this seems to be one to watch. Keep us posted.

The way I vape is to take 2 to 3 hits form my LSV and then when I need a maintenance hit, I hit the MFLB once.    I don't think the the FV will ever replace my LSV, but it could replace my MFLB simply because when I hit the sweet spot, it is much tastier and MUCH smoother.

The build quality of this vape is amazing though, and I would say that regardless of price.    At this price though, the build quality is just insanely good.
