Application Weapon of Choice

Discussion in 'Vaporizers' started by jfunke, Nov 19, 2014.

  1. This seems to be a good place to post this particular piece.  I have my own blog and site, and part of the target audience is about to be mentioned.  But in the interest of controlling potential liability, I have not come aound to discussions of MMMJ on my site;  perhaps a new arconrym for you, meaning 'mental medical marijuana'.

I have bipolar type 1, yep the nasty one.  Having only one friend who is also type 1, whome I have never met in person, she sent me a basically brand-new Vapir N02.

Here's my impression:  Regarding the savings, the jury is still out.  I have only just started purching medication by the oz, but given the dosage amount to effect vaping vs. combustion, and the medical need, I can only guestimate that cumbustion may be more of a dollar savings.  However, the grinding to perfection is new, and I do not have a scale.  So no empirical, or even reasonable ancedotal evidence.

Next on the list:  Get a scale.  Please feel free to provide some suggestions, brands, models etc.  I ask only that you the prices are kept near earth.  But I appreciate the groups focus on real data, so as I have trolled enough to want to participate, let's get some data.

The N02, in and of itself.  It is a good unit, although again, used.  So I am slowly doing a reconditioning job.  Screens, either their propietary design or off the shelf, are problematic in chamber installation.  For the top, you have to use the Vapir propritaries, or you're, well, screwed.  You can get away without one at the top, as long as you're anal about cleanliness.

Temp:  Lots of experimenting there.  What I have come to is 373F.  Can induce a little coughing, but if the tube is used with mouthpiece, which I rarely do, this cuts the cough-inducing burn by about 75%.  Perhaps I need to feel that burn, I have no idea.  But that temperature is the core of the decision.  I have read on the variations, and variables, and found this to be ideal.

For the condition:  It is contra-indicated.  In other words, the psych bible says DO NOT add pot to bipolar.  But I am paradoxical.  Medications, generally, do the opposite of intended outcome.  So it almost makes inverted sense that something almost guaranteed to fail, and cause issues would do the opposite as well.  And it does, and I am not alone.  Not knowing whether or whether not these are also paradoxical patients, or simply fall into the 20% where traditional bipolar treatments fail, is not relevant.  Their stories mirror my own.

And this is the beuaty of the N02.  It's rechargeable. Now mine, to be 4-session capable really needs to charge over-night.  No biggie.  And that makes it discreet, as theere are social considerations, and readily accesable for PRN (emergency, as needed) depression relief, anxiety, or assistance with mood stabalization, it's there.  Happened to have a flight-case for some electronics, fits perfect with charger, ample supply of meds, grinder and screens (becuase I like to suffer getting them into the chamber).

The effacay against the disease does not belong here, it will be posted in the appropriate section.  There is always, given my profession, a risk with social media and over-disclosure can really hurt.  For some reason, there is a comfort here.  It took a while, a few visits, but with positive feedback I never expected, I feel more than comfortable.

I want to get to this on my own site.  The only hold-back is fear.

But there's my $.02 on the Vapir as an on-demand portable bottlestop for my medical issues.  A great vape, that serves a great purpose.  And that case rig is just like, well, perfect.

    And I didn't spell-check shit.  I can write, I can walk.  I cannot spell.
