Colorado smog law help

  1. Well I am a car enthusiast and I live in California... We all know how California hates us car enthusiasts... I have been wanting to move for awhile and it's either Washington or Colorado. Now Washington doesn't have smog rules for cars older than 25 years old which is great. Now Colorado on the other hand I have no idea about can anyone help?

  2. It's almost the easiest thing in the world to google laws

It's pretty easy not to be an ass hole too...

Now Smog laws change often and I would like a resident of the state who has recently went through it to tell me how it works. Any specific years and under cars don't need to be smogged? Do they do the sniffer, visual, ecu check, how many hydrocarbons, C02,etc

It's also not that helpful of a website if you were to have googled it yourself. not exact answers.

  4. I live in southern Colorado and there are no smog laws here. But if you live in Denver you need to smog your car. I'm not sure about older 25+ year old cars. Last I knew no smog in Colorado Springs. Where are you looking to more?

  5. Boulder, Aroura, more or less anyway surrounding Denver but I guess I wouldn't mind Denver aswell but I thought it was more expensive to live there and I don't want to commit that much money for X amount of years in a place I know I will move from(to get a nicer place) But really no smog laws... Hum things are looking up. Thanks.

  6. That's quite rude, as the link you posted shares exemptions based on county, and car. It even gives the test times. They also explain the basic testing procedures. I found all this by using google. So maybe calm down and read the info you posted, not just lip off at someone who is saying the truth.

  7. You commented on my post to post bullshit? Why even bother... It seriously relates to nothing important..
That link doesn't provide jack as posted above a actual resident contradicted it. I want actual residents posting actual info from there actual area. Smog can vary by county. And once again that link provides no real answers just generalizations. As an auto enthusiast I want to make sure where I move I can still play around and have a little fun without being hassled by cops like here in California. I will also be rude to snide people.

  8. You couldnt pay me to live in the area's you listed. Traffic alone will make me want to pull my hair out. Check out airbnb.com if your looking for monthly+++ rentals. Some people will cut you great deals for longer stays.

  9. Thanks for all the help so far. Any suggestions for appartment or cheaper townhomes in areas you would like? I grow my own so I really don't need to be by a dispensary or anything. Thanks again.

  10. Did you even read what you posted? @Bob Barker reiterated information readily available on that website. In certain counties, there are no emissions testing on passenger cars, it states it quite clearly. The website also tells you age restrictions, on vehicles and testing procedures.

It would be far easier to find a car enthusiast forum for Denver or Col in general, as they will give you detailed answers.

Here you just seem like a troll, why you didn't just read what you posted I am unsure.

  11. do you work?

  12. who the H E double hockey stick are you calling a troll?

No I did not read the link as I gave him info I knew off the top of my head. I have no need to click the link and read info that does not pertain to me.

  13. I just said you reiterated a point available on the website.

  14. OH......sweet  :smoking:

  15. Yes I work, or else I wouldn't be making the move haha. I live my with GF so we have two incomes(which helps).

  16. It would be easier to get jobs in the big city but small town Colorado is where its at. I'd look at Durango, Canon City, Salida, Grand Junction but thats just my tatse :) I dont think any of the locations I listed require smog.

  17. thanks for all your help
