Hey @Fresh Ronin I checked your spot out! Thanks for the heads up.

  2. Heya MHG hope all is well with you. I know you are a busy dude. How're the ladies looking? And how's the new light working out? :poke: :D

PS: I saw that you were running some plants with and some without biochar. Notice any big differences?

    Take it easy man

  3. I bet MHG is as busy as a mofo. I know im close to making him even busier with a substantial order for the outdoor season. Ah, the pros and cons of operating the most popular online organics shop around. I hope you get to enjoy the fruits of your success soon, MHG, you certainly deserve it. Keep up the good work, good sir. The promix/cspm mix package youve recently introduced is like you were reading my mind.

  5. I've been looking into the Mars lights. Can we get an update?

  6. I love the mars lights and have had good success. Over a pound per light in my style of setup is pretty good and the quality has absolutely increased.

  8. Damn, all those pics were LED only? Beautiful plants dude!

  9. Yep only LED. I started off buying one LED hoping to save heat problems as summer gets close and figured worst case I would use it for veg if it failed me. I was happily surprised with the yield and something about the leaf surface temperature or the infrared bulbs, I'm not sure, but the frost and odors are incredible. So much so that I bought another MARS II 1600 and decided to use that for flowering. It was pretty cool to take down hundreds of pounds of hoods, bulbs, ballasts and fans then simply replace with two flat panel black boxes and one exhaust fan. I already feel more fire safe and so far I think the temps will be very easy to control in summer.

  10. Working on the veggie garden and started some chicks to help with all the grasshoppers and bugs. Experimenting with sub irrigated planter. This is GG#4

Never really messed around with these before and had a few issues to start but now she seems to love it. Just water through a pipe into the reservoir underneath and the water gets wicked up by the soil. So far the top of the soil under the mulch has never dried out.

I am so glad someone else understands about the Leaf Surface Temps changing under the IR light!!!

Looking mighty fine man! One hell of a compost pile! Those chicks look really happy as well, until Emma comes up "mmmm, nuggets" haha!

Very interesting!! Is this a DIY planter or something you purchased? I have been looking into SIP trays for quite a bit now, trying to get my head wrapped around the whole "wicking" idea. So far I am thinking of building a 26"x26"x7" Wood tray to house my 20"x20"x17" 25Gal pots. I will build the SIP tray on top of a 1000lb capable dolly with casters, line the wood tray with a 35mil thick Pond liner. Fill a few inches away from the rim with 3/8" Lava Rock then right under that with water. Think this will work the same way as your sub irrigation planter? Glad to see you with some free time to post man! Hope all has been well with you and yours!

  13. SIP- Two buckets connected with a wick.

Swick- Fabric pots sitting on a layer if aeration, with at least a one inch air gap.

    Hth

  14. That will explain why I can't find any information on it! Everyone in my thread has been calling it a SIP! Haha, thank you Haggard!

This is where I got mine. I'm not sure how it will no-till but that was the goal. I guess time will tell.

I think SIP (self irritated planter) is kinda general for any set up that self waters.

  17.
I think it's "Sub-Irrigated planter" and really it's any planter that waters from the bottom. But like Haggard mentioned usually have a wick or a chamber where the soil acts as the wick. Either way I haven't heard of the "Swick" term and I like it and will be using that, thanks HaGGard
