So what's the difference between a smart pot (fabric pot) and those tote bags they basically give away at the grocery store? You know the recycle cloth grocery bags. Anyone tried to grow in one? My grow journal http://forum.grasscity.com/indoor-grow-journals/1323166-another-noob-his-first-grow.html
Well found an article on it. http://www.globalbuckets.org/p/grow-bags.html?m=1 what do you all think. I think smart pots are an over priced rip off. My grow journal http://forum.grasscity.com/indoor-grow-journals/1323166-another-noob-his-first-grow.html
Walmart bag - does give good air to roots, but unlike smart pots, roots don't find their way out of the bottom of the fabric
the large 20 gallon smart pots are really good for outdoor growing for a number of reasons. I have some smaller sizes and I would not buy them again. I would rather grow indoors in a five gallon bucket rather than a five gallon smart pot. Personally, I use 12 inch Misko self watering pots. You can buy them at Walmart in the spring, or on amazon all year long.
You need to be careful what they are made from, if certain plastics like PVC is used in the material then the plants will not be happy....
