What party do you belong to?

  1. Civil Libertarian Party (If it only existed).

I believe civil liberties (freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, freedom of religion, right to privacy, due process, no torture) are the most important issue and one of the few ones that are non-negotiable.

I wish liberty-minded Republicans and Democrats would bleed away from the their parties and focus on creating a powerful civil liberty political base. We need it now more than ever.

I probably would be independent, but even that does not describe my position. I am a proponent for a party that might be called the "principle party". Any candidate that speaks fully to the principles of the 1787 constitution has my vote.

The tea party is heavily infiltrated and manipulated, which is why they are such a turn off. I spent about 6 months at the "patriotaction.net" forum and found them to be heavily controlled by social fears. Very interesting but reserved support for constitutional principle.

If your impressions of support for legalization come from the web or media, you could be the victim of cognitive infiltration. You've used a cognitive distortion, "all politicians are liars". Which is "all or nothing thinking". Fact is 90% probably are but it does not serve us to ignore the 10% that are not.

Cognitive infiltration is insidious and without some understanding of the techniques, our thinking can be steered around in ways we really do not want it to be, but we won't know it.

  9. Colorado Libertarian

  10. None. Not now, not ever.

  11. Independent. But anymore, what the fuck difference does it make? This year the voting machines and those that rigged them are deciding who votes for what - at least in Illinois and Maryland - as they randomly swap votes for Republicans to votes for Democrats. If they can't make a difference maybe all the dead people, the non-citizens, and folks who vote several times for a fifth of rot-gut may be able to ensure the correct victories where needed.

  13. I can't believe how many people still have faith in the US political system. Even stranger, it seems that everyone that still has faith in the system is completely aware that it's a cesspool of corruption that always has been, and will be, an immoral institution. Yet, they maintain this cognitively dissonant belief that if they can just "vote in the right guy", this oligarchy can just be transformed overnight back into " The Land of the Free". It's bat shit insanity. If one person was even able to influence the government that much it would be a dictatorship, which obviously violates the principles of freedom that this country pretends to love so much. If you know that politicians are corrupt and you continue to vote fo them, you have no right to complain; you've knowingly cast your vote for this corrupt system, you are responsible for its fuck-ups.

  14. yup thats what I was just saying why the fuck do people keep voting when they know its going to be more of the same..if nobody voted they would have to acknowledge the system is broken

I haven't registered.. I don't really care for any local politicians and this state usually votes the same way for the president

  17. I guess independent, my state doesn't require a subscription to a party.

I would say ideally, we would be a melting pot of most shit, but people get stuck on too much bullshit. overall I'd say anarchistic is the way to go, but people cant be trusted.

let people do whatever the fuck they wanna do as long as they dont hurt or fuck over other people. I'd say thats a pretty good blanket rule.

I live in Tx, so it's a deep red. I was hoping we'd start turning blue(not because I like dems). financially(they'll say economically, but entry level jobs are getting harder to come by) stable, but socially we are fucked. I mean I actually dont even understand their thinking, that if we're good on money, that our education has been cut by over 5billion. its too much of a headache to even think about anymore, so I've given up on even attempting to change shit. I'm too pessimistic to bother with it.

  18. I'm a card carrying socialist and I used to be a Democrat. Damn this year's election with hardly any fill-in blanks
