So I started growing roughly around the middle of September. I used a bagseed of mids so I have no idea what Im even growing. I know I started way to late in the season to get a decent size plant but I said fuck it and tried anyways now Im sitting here with a beautiful little one foot female that I believe to be a sativa (or sativa dominant) because of the leaves and I have no idea when to harvest her since im outta whack with the outdoor light scheduling. ive been told you could go by the trichomes turning color such as clear to cloudy/milky, cloudy to amber. I don't have a handheld microscope or jewelers loupe and wont be able to get one for a while the best I could come up with are these pictures: Any thoughts as to how close I am to harvest? Thanks in advance
if you have a radio shack close, try them. for around 12-$15, the have a nice dope scope. they call it a pocket microscope, and it works pretty good. i cut when i have mostly milky trichs, with some clear and amber peppered here and there.
do those microscopes need to be hooked up to a computer to work or do you just look through like a lens or something? because the ones I was looking at kept saying USB
ok thanks. so you couldn't tell anything with my pics? I thought half were cloudy and the rest were clear not to sure how right I am tho.
That's a helluva thing right there. ^^^ With all the glorious charm of one of them calculator wristwatches...
That photo is the Radio Shack scope, or very similar to it. You can also use a jeweler's loupe easily bought off eBay for a few bucks.
You still have at least a month I would say before you need to worry about using a scope. Looking good though http://forum.grasscity.com/indoor-grow-journals/1316222-4x4-led-wild-thai-seed-second-grow.html#entry20304616
mine has to be used with laptop and gets nice pics even with my chronic shakes. and was £10 off the bay View attachment 147574 View attachment 147571 View attachment 147573 View attachment 147568
If the strain is mostly indica u can get away with cloudy trichomes and get a couchy buzz. It will be more of a couch magnet than a couch lock. Sent from my iPod touch using Grasscity Forum
A tool is only as good as the person using it, fwiw. Ymmv. May be a cheap pos  but mines worked semi well for years. If youre prone to rage might not be a good purchase
