Ok I have a 6" carbon filter. I really dont know how much longer it will be good, its a iPower. It says you can switch the ends to xtend the life, I did. My question is can I make my own filter but use the one I have, meaning empty the old one and put fresh charcoal in it? Would I be better buying a new one. Thanks
if you can get it open without harming the filter itself then swaping the carbon will work just fine...I use a DIY and aquarium carbon lasts 4-5 months before i start to smell anything
Do you have a link to the diy filter? Ive seen some of them but also see comments that they dont work well so im interested in seeing how yours is designed.
