Lighting options?

Hey everyone.
 
Iv recently started growing my third plant. I grew one over a year ago and it was looking good, however unfortunitly didn't make it to harvest as we had to move and I had it at my uncles and the cops came so we had to destroy it or id be in jail right now. Anyway, I had an old desk lamp I used for this plant, from what I remember, it had 12w (somewhere around that wattage range), CLF Cool white bulb. Just a standard bulb you would use for your room lighting. This bulb was actually doing a good job in terms on growing, I had almost hand sized leafs. It had about 14 nodes on it was about a foot tall. Was a good looking plant. But now im faced with the issue of growing another one without artificial lighting. Iv got a seedling that sprout ted last week. Its looking good now but its growing VERY slowly. I have it inside a lot of the time but I had it outside today for about 6 hours in good hot sun with a bit of "medium" breeze. I Have it in a half cut 600ml Lift bottle haha. With tape and a black sock around it to stop light getting to the roots. Now I know this sounds very cheap and what not, but hey its working. Also my dad will spaz if he sees my plant. Please don't give me the talk about light hours, from past experience it doesn't matter that much as it still grows, slowly of course, but healthy indeed. Even not on 12/12 I still had pre-buds developing on my last plant, and it wasn't auto-flower it was a seed from weed I got off a mate. But iv ordered a desk lamp off the internet, and a few different bulbs, a warm white CFL, and a Cool white CFL. But basically after all this, my question is, for a seedling, should I use the warm white or cool white? And any opinions on hyding it from my father lol? And is a mix of sunlight AND indoor lighting a good mix? Since the sun contains visal things like UV, vitamin d ect... So it would help the plant? in a sence. And also when is it safe to Tip/Top the plant? And how to get bigger leafs as it is now? its still developing its second set of leafs. But on pictures on this site and on youtube people have rather large leafs for a seedling. Please help and opinions are welcome. Just please don't give me shit lol.
