What do you guys think of my potential first scientific piece? My only other piece is a cheap spoon I picked up ages ago, so this'll be quite a jump. I hate that kind of perc tbh..a regular thick straight tube or beaker bottom with a showerhead downstem is much better. Maybe an ashcatcher if you want one but it's not really needed with the showerhead downstem. Nope, personally don't like that "honeycomb" perc or whatever they call it. The disc is laser cut and it takes little to no effort to make those discs, meaning that the quality of this piece is junk, shitty, crap, or just simply china. That tree looks janky too, notice in the video the slits on the tree doesn't even diffuse the smoke? The smoke pops out from the bottom of the tree which defeats the purpose of having a perc. Trust me on this one, this piece will probably last you few months, then the will tree snaps off leaving you with disappointment. So what should you do? Save up a little bit more (I'm assuming your budget is around $80 looking at the price tag) and buy something like this: http://www.apixdesign.com/17-5-gridded-stemline-with-brown-accents/ much more elegant, much more scientific, much more american and sturdy. Don't waste money on china glass and save up for something that's more worth while.
