How much control do we really have over our own lives? Are our lives really our own? What do you think?
We have all the control we could ask for, If that's what you want.. You'd have to go off grid though. However, if you would like any government "benefits" whatsoever, they're gonna have a good amount of control over your everyday life. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
There are laws set in place, why is this? Is it not to control us or even not to keep us under control?
Oh yes miss suz. They have been controlling the American public for years. I used to trust them. Then the oil crises of '79 woke me up to thier shenannigans. They actually had me believing that the earth was running out of oil.
What kind of answer are you looking for? How do you want that quantified? It depends entirely on where someone lives, how old they are, what they do for a living, if they are married, whether they have kids or other dependents, choices they've made in the past, health conditions, etc. There are a lot of uncontrollable factors in life, and many that are. Those factors are not going to be the same for everyone. To answer your second question - yes, your life is your own. You own the choices you make and the path you take within a world that you have no control over.
you asked 3 questions how can you not want answers? You're in control of your life within the "boundaries" (Laws, Social Norms) How the boundaries are decided would be a good discussion.
But IMHO too many people sit around griping about the state of the world instead of making a contribution.
we have a lot of control over the choices we make every day.. and that paves the path of our lives. so yes, you have control. every time you make a choice you make a controlling decision that will steer your life one way or another.
I control my life. The scope of my life has been designed by my choices, successes and tempered by my failures. Life takes loads of hard work. It isn't meant to be easy in any regard. Its meant to be hard. If it wasn't then it would be worth zippo.
Yes we do have control over our lives but how much control do we have? If this were a free country wouldn't we be able to smoke weed in all 50 states by now? No the only freedom we have is the freedom of speech but talking doesnt make u feel better after u got hurt and it sure as hell doesn't make u able to carry any gun u want just cuz some states won't let u. The question isn't if we have control it's how much control do we really have?
