    Thank you!

For some reason I always thought deist meant something else.

Anyone else consider themselves a "deist"?

  4. "Gods" have been DEFINED by religions...

It is why we argue about the fact so much...

  5. Yep. I pray every single day but dont go to church or nothin. Organized religion is just so stupid.

This is where I messed up, I thought all deist fell under "classical deism" which suggest that God doesn't intervene with the affairs of mankind.

  7. I'm thankful for everything I have, to what/whom I have no idea...  man has failed in this area when trying to explain what that is.

Religion is baseless human speculation about God's motives and goals.

I find the concept of God to far more believable than the bible which was edited countless times.

  11. Religion is just a word to describe the belief or worship in god...

  12. Ok, fine.

Anyone believe in God but not ORGANIZED religion?

    Happy? :)

  13. Id defo say i was a diest, the mathmatics of the universe are just too precise for it to all be a accident. I believe "god" is more of a system then a actual tangable thing, but accept im wrong as there are millions of possibilitys im defo not right. I Still say my quick prayer at night thanking the big G for life.

  14. I believe in a higher consciousness/ set of information...whether its sentient or not i dont know

  15. I'm the same way but with the natural world. The Earth is too much of a perfect miracle to be be a cosmic freak accident.

When it comes to thanking God, I only think about doing it when I'm blazed for some reason.

  16. Lots of people...that's where the term 'personal god' comes from...

Well those people are "deist" but for some reason most of them don't identify themselves that way.

I only learned of the term after reading this thread.

  18. The natural world (universe) has many different planets with life. To say otherwise puts a higher importance on earth. There are so many different goldilock zones, it would be impossible for life to not occur elsewhere.

We are but a drop in a ocean teeming with life.

Yes there are countless goldilock planets but we can't be sure how many have intelligent life with sophisticated societies capable of moral reflection and spiritual awakening.

Earthly evolution went from pond scum to the Sistine Chapel. Again, I doubt that was a cosmic freak accident.
