Thinking about buying a 250ft ball but want some second opinions before committing to buying such a large amount. I've never tried reputable brands like Humboldt or Beeline so I don't see the point of buying a small amount since I have nothing to compare it to.

According to their website "Hemp is just now – FINALLY allowed to be grown again in the USA. However there is not yet any access to American-grown commercial hemp for use in making hemp wicks. Therefore we had to make our hemp wick in the #1 producer of hemp worldwide – China. The plants are sown, harvested, retted and dried in the traditional way, unchanged for thousands of years. We hope in the coming years to be able to switch to domestically grown hemp for our wicks and it is our commitment to be one of the first to do so In the meantime we insist that our hemp suppliers use sustainable growing techniques with no pesticides."

EDIT: Also I live in the EU where it's a bit harder to find Beeline and Humboldt wick, all I can find is I-tal and Raw and I've seen many negative things on this forum about I-tal

  2. Hempwick sounds like a fun toy to play with while smoking. I should try it out sometime...

The question is has anybody tried it? How does it compare to other brands like Humboldt and Beeline. Also I'm confused because I thought Humboldt and Beeline were made in the USA whereas I-Tal was made in China, but the Raw website says "there is not yet any access to American-grown commercial hemp for use in making hemp wicks" which is why they make it in China

You really should man, noticeably better tasting, and good for groups (no one jacks your lighter) just keep it burning and pass the flame.

That's cool RAW is committed to domestic cultivation.

  6. the raw wick is horrible, IMO. I got some and its kind of gross like the ital wick. they make it in china so they can make more $$$$ probably. the companies in the US import hemp from other places but actually manufacture the wick in the USA. just email them and ask. thats what I did when I wondering what was going on. too bad raw decided to use such bad wick under their name because the raw papers are great, IMO.

  7. I got humboldt hemp wick as my backup till I get a herb iron.
