Lolos pot blunders

  1. 1St grow ever

    Space is 4x2x4

4 Cfls with dome hoods 2x 850 lumens set to provide underfoliage light. 2X 1450 lumens set to provide overhead lighting.all are 6500k for veg. Will switch when i flower. I keep the lights pretty close for 2 reasons..cfls brillance sucks..but its cheap so a safe investment for a rookie..bulbs....and they produce next to no heat so why not keep em close..i move the lights from twice to three times in a 24 hr period to allow even growth and height control without chokin them out or over stretching..

    Nutes are 1413853348062.jpg
    And bat shit 10-3-1

I had a problem early on with my water turnin the soil alkaline so i use the acidifier now and premix it with the guano..

Started them in water to germ then moved to small containers until the root showed on the bottom then i transplanted to one gallon 6inch pots. Just transplanted into 3gallon pots today. No fert was added until their last week in the one gallon pots and that was just because my water is alkaline as fuck and i almost killed them due to the buildup and had to treat with the acidifier or they would have died..the early signs of lockout was wrinkled leaves reddish stem and one even started yellowing on the edges of one leaf...i feel i caught it in time to keep from too much damage but my gut says they got stunted a bit and the one that showed a few brown tips is prolly gonna turn male so of the three i might have 1 female but that's fine cuz i have three more breaking soil now and will be about 3weeks behind the first 3..

Soil was miracle grow with time release shit in it..yeah..not doin that again...honestly I'm thinkin organic is the way and I'm lookin into recipes will update further..the last transplant i replaced the soil with a local made organic soil that the local greenhouse recommended.

Temp is roughly high 70s with humidity around mid 50s ..i vinegar and baking soda bomb twice daily for two hours. When done i leave a fan blowing indirectly for wind stress and air circulation.

Light cycle is 24 hrs given the weak lights i figured it a safe bet it won't stretch the plants or burn them.

That's all i can think of at the moment..here are some pics of progress basically on a 7 day interval 1413854958882.jpg 1413854976024.jpg 1413854990738.jpg 1413855046773.jpg

Ok so a full 24 after transplant. They have all shown new growth and have responded nicely to the soil change so yeah..I'm still at a loss on water alkaline levels and how to fix safely so hit me with some ideas lol..be good and smoke one

  3. 1414081498013.jpg full view..the ones in 3 gallon pots are about 25 days in soil. Front 2 are in the first week 1414081609505.jpg this one shows basically no sign of any problems. Center brach is #7..height is around 7 inches..growing pretty bushy so I'm thinkin female. 1414081769192.jpg this one is almost a brach ahead of the other two and stands an inch taller..its pretty far ahead in lower brach growth also so I'm thinkin male prolly...trimmed a few bottom starter leaves 1414081954199.jpg top of the possible fem.. 1414081988573.jpg 1414082005268.jpg ok so this one has something wrong...top leaves start fine but midway thru the edges curl up and those ridges can't be good...color also yellows...two brachs down the fan leaves ends have curled under..new growth at brach joints all look healthy tho....k so that's the up date yall be good

  4. Subbed

    Where you getting your water?
You happen to have a fish tank?

  5. Water was just tapwater and we have hard water around here but been filling buckets of rain water tho and using that after a mild boil and cooldown to 68ish...no fish tank. What would i use it for?

Fish tanks are full of good water, lots of nitrogen, fish shit, ect.. great for organic grows.
They even make a hydro grow fish tank setup.

Rain water collection is great too. find some food grade 55gal drums, pipe all the roof water to'em.

Or, an RO system. ebay has some decent price. around $100

  7. Had a fish tank up until a few years ago. Makes sense tho. Would there have to be any worries from the algea and/or other things that the water may contain?

  8. far as I know, just ph it b4 putting in your plants.

  9. Thanks man

  10. So i went to fox farm today...they don't carry any soil or nutes in this store...fml

Only scotty isn't a person in my case...its my wallet

  12. I use rainwater every once in a while.

You girls look like they have enjoy it all along. Nice grow!

  13. Thanks

  14. Doubled the lights today..hit em with a little nutes ...given the fact its bag seed, space constraints, and a few other things I'm gonna start 12/12 with 2500k lights today. So I gave em 24 hours of dark and the nutes i gave are 12-55-6..did half strength cuz really I'm just tryin to lighty bump the P to further motivate a change..plants are right at a foot tall. 3 days short of a month old.

  15. Bagseed huh! They look good. Watch the stretch in the next few days. Most
stretch to double the size. More Power Scotty.

  16. Splitters and 2500k bulbs. 1414383619035.jpg
These two sub stalks are forming triple and quad brachs? Normal?? All three plants are doin it..

Other than that not much to report...

Ohhhh and side note 1414383947026.jpg happy halloween from count budula

  18. Well they ain't dead yet so i must be doin something right 1414561186845.jpg

  19. 1414622745135.jpg testin the changes i made while the plants sleep

  20. Have you seen any indications of budding yet? I have only used CFL's in early
seedling stage. Seems you might need even more light, Maybe some down the sides?
How about a fan to gently agitate and strengthen the girls?

I pulled a fan out of an old computer and hooked it up to a 12 volt
wall pig and am using it in my setup. It moves a lot of air, I will switch it out for a
big fan when the room fills up.

    They look happy.
