Weedles first PC grow (autoflower) - 100w CFL - Northern Light Automatic + Royal Dwarf

Discussion in 'Micro Grows' started by WeedleTM, Oct 20, 2014.

  1. This is my first grow, do you guys know if when i switch to flowering i should continue with the grow nutes and and lights and just add the flowering ones, or get rid of grow lights and use only the bloom nutes

  2. Stop the grow nutes wen you switch to flower. Its fine to still add a veglight in the flower period because its always a good idea to expand the spectrum a bit.

    Also a quick update!
The Royal Bluematic and the Royal Dwarf are both growing nicely! I'm curious if the RD will still grow in height, or is this the final height of her?

This part's pure opinion...with nutes, i switch to flowering nutes a week before I trigger flower. That way, it's already "uploaded" the right balances to support flower growth when you trigger it to start growing them.

Take that for what it's worth.

    Lights...this isn't opinion.

Blue spectrum is shorter wavelength, higher energy. Light energy plus nutes plus water equals sugar, which is then used for energy for the plant to grow. That's why it "wants" blue wavelengths during veg. Think "teenage kid"....stuffs a bunch of high-energy junk food and is STILL constantly hungry, and growing like mad.

Red wavelengths are longer and less energetic.

Your plant in flower, for sake of analogy, is a pregnant woman. She needs neonatal vitamins, not One-a-Day, to grow a healthy baby. Hence changing nutes. And her diet has to change to something less energetic, but still enriching, because her metabolism gets all screwy and her physical condition means she can't exercise the same way or grow the same way. She'll not only produce a less healthy baby, but she'll gain 300 pounds of unhealthy fat, herself in the process, if she doesn't (sorry if this analogy is offensive to any ladies in the audience, but it's an easy way to get a good mental picture).

    Quoted from a website:
Save your plants from overheating and save yourself from the root rot worries with the High Caliper Growing Smart Pot®! This soft-sided container is constructed from fabric and is designed to air root prune your plants.
Air root pruning promotes a healthy, fibrous root ball with an increased number of root tips. The more root tips you have, the more water and nutrients your plants can absorb, and the faster they will grow!
The Smart Pot's fabric design also helps to release any buildup of heat and allows air to flow through the plants root zone. This aeration process uses evaporation which cools the plant's root ball and ensures that it stays at a temperature that won't harm the plant. This gives you a longer growth cycle and healthier plants.

It was just 5 dollar a pot (the smallest) and the reviews are very good, so for me its really worth a try!  :D

  17. I mean, some people say giving some 6500k too during flowe is good for keeping leaves healthy... Thing is, i only have one bulb of each... Should i put both or just bloom, also, i have low temps, so i thought putting the 6500 would help increase the temperature...
