  1. I have been smoking off and on from age 16 to now (22). Since then a lot has happened in my life. I have awakened to many things within myself. My views of myself as a being and the world has evolved so much.

For those of you who genuinely seek a balanced life, I am wondering what your thoughts are on marijuana use and spirituality/inner seeking in regard to utilizing the many catalyst we have pop up in life.

    Is weed a cheat?

or do you feel that it helps challenge you to do more?

    is in an escape?

or do you find yourself engaging yourself even more when high?

how often are you smoking and why?

    are you psychologically addicted?

if so, how do you feel about it?

do you ever see yourself quitting?

What are the spiritual implications of medium/heavy marijuana use in YOUR life?

I am blessed to have discovered the power of meditation and through my experiences I have realized the high one may experience via meditation is much "higher" and much clearer and pure than any high a substance can give you.

All in all, for me, I feel that eventually I will need to quit marijuana and become completely self sufficient in regard to not relying on external substances for happiness/fun/high. I am in a good place in my life at the moment. I will admit though weed does tend to be a crutch. You get home from a hard days work, what do you do, smoke...but what if you got home from a hard days work and didn't smoke? would you be emotionally stable, and if not, why?

this is not a judgmental thread. I respect all of the choices you all make, this should be seen as a haven where people can come and be honest with themselves and share their thoughts.

    Peace

  2. I somehow missed the giant thread that shares the same topic.

    this can be deleted

  3. I don't know the giant thread your referring to, but..

    Is weed a cheat?
I don't believe it is. It's more of like a tool for me. I like it while I meditate, makes me feel more subtle energies within myself.
\nor do you feel that it helps challenge you to do more?
    more meditation? definitely
    \nis in an escape?
No it is not an escape. More of an experience.
\nor do you find yourself engaging yourself even more when high?
    N/A
\nhow often are you smoking and why?
I smoke maybe 2 - 3 times a week, for meditation, for relaxation.
    \nare you psychologically addicted?
    No I am not
\nif so, how do you feel about it?
\ndo you ever see yourself quitting?
Not quitting completely, but using it every now and then
\nWhat are the spiritual implications of medium/heavy marijuana use in YOUR life?
To live in the now, to enjoy it no matter how shitty or how good it is, because its none of that, it just is what it is.

  4. Is weed a cheat?
No. It is a substance which alters your brain chemistry.

or do you feel that it helps challenge you to do more?
Yes. It makes me think in different ways which I find fun and interesting.

    is in an escape?
    Yes. Sobriety sucks.

or do you find yourself engaging yourself even more when high?
    Yes

how often are you smoking and why?
Everyday because it's fun and I can afford to.

    are you psychologically addicted?
No. Cannabis is not addictive, but people can develop dependence on it.

if so, how do you feel about it?
I can go without it and have little to no "withdrawal symptoms." These symptoms are minor and include insomnia, tiredness, loss of appetite. They only last like 2-3 days after not smoking.

do you ever see yourself quitting?
    No.

What are the spiritual implications of medium/heavy marijuana use in YOUR life?
Being high makes you introspective and therefore, smoking weed can be potentially very spiritual. I generally use it to chill out and enhance everyday life. Spirituality is more for other psychedelic unmentionables if you know what I mean.
