Want to buy a vaporizer

  1. Hey guys I've been smoking for about 1-2 years now and I'm starting to look into getting a vaporizer. I smoke about 1/2 oz per month so it would be great to start vaporizing to save some money. I have a few needs in the vaporizer:
    1) Price- I'd like one around $100 but I'm willing to pay for what I need. $150 is maximum price I'm willing to pay.
    2) Substance- Id like a vaporizer that you can just grind up a nug and smoke it, I don't have the option to start using hash or shatter.
    3) Size- It has to be relatively small and easy to carry around with me. Maybe one that can fit in my pocket or a little bit bigger than that works.
    4) Smell- It is my least concern but it would be nice to have less of a smell with it.
    5) Reliability- I don't want to pay $100+ for a vaporizer that's going to break in less than a year. It should be well-made and reliable.
    6) Consumption- I know this is really based on the user but I'd like a vaporizer that doesn't need a lot of weed to get me high. I have an average-low tolerance since I usually smoke about 2 times every weekend but I don't want to buy a vape for $100+ if I'm going to be using the same amount of weed i'd be using if I stuck to my bowl.
Thanks so much guys this is really going to help me!! :)

  2. If I was you I would be looking in to the MFLB, flowermate, and firewood.

  3. Ok I'll look them up. By the way, is it even worth buying a vaporizer if I already have a glass bowl?

  4. Yeah for sure it is. Many of us enjoy vaping a lot more than smoking.

Out of the three I'm really liking the Vapormax V 5.0 Dry Herb Vaporizer by Flowermate. I liked the other two but this one just looks amazing and seems very reliable. It is a little bit pricey ($149.95) but seems like it will definitely be worth the price. Thanks so much bro

  6. Look for the 5.0s only. The 5.0 doesnt have adjustable temperature and I find its set temp is a little low. Also damn man $150 where did you see it for that much? I paid $65 for mine but I think they are out of stock right now. For that amount of money you might as well go for a solo for better build quality.

  7. Ok I'll look for the 5.0s. Never mind the $150 one it was on some bs website, I found one on eBay for $100 and $5 shipping but if you got yours for $65 Id much rather pay that. Do you know the website you bought yours from so when they get back in stock I can purchase one?

  8. You can always drop them an email or call them up to ask. It was http://www.authorizedvaporizerdealer.com/

  9. If i were you I would save your money and buy a Pax.

I know you have a limit, and spending $250 is expensive, but you want a unit that will last a great deal of time.

The MFLB is an awesome unit, it was my first vape.
But batteries will stop holding its charge.
Its a pain in the ass to always be carrying the unit, brush, battery, and stem (although I hit the box native).
Plus it is very easy to break.  Yes it does have a lifetime warranty, but that is because these units are cheap to make and mark up.

I got the pax two weeks ago and it has been smooth sailing.  The unit is built great, and it is truly portable.

With your budget, the MFLB is the way to go, but I strongly suggest you just save a bit more and buy a pax.  you deserve it.

  10. If he was willing to spend $250 he could get a whole lot better of a vape than a pax.

  11.
    completely agree.

"3) Size- It has to be relatively small and easy to carry around with me. Maybe one that can fit in my pocket or a little bit bigger than that works."

That is the pax right there.

Although the Arizer Solo is a better vape than the Pax, it is circular making it hard to put in your pocket, and you must always carry a glass stem.

  12. Can an ascent not fit in a typical pocket? Can a firefly not fit in a typical pocket?

I was not referring to a solo at all.

  13. Seems like the MFLB is very popular. Wanna tell me some things about it from past use? Ex. Cleaning it, how much I can buy one for, how it works, anything like that

I broke mine at first as a new beginner, it's important to know not to let your material combust inside, as it will ruin the screen you toss your salad in. Rendering your box unusable pretty much.
But aside from that the owners are very nice people and will hook you up with a free new one if that is the case of it breaking, and other incidents as well. Clean the inside very gently with the brush that comes with the kit. There are youtube videos for more explanation and other ways to clean it as well. Also techniques to get maximum vapor from the mflb.
The community of the mflb is pretty great aswell, cost aroud 100$ could get one for less on certain sites but dont trust most of them. I'm sure there are other vapes you will be happy with for sure though!
Another thing worth adding about the mflb is that it uses conduction* to vaporize (the heating element is not touching the herb) unlike pens that may cook the herb without your knowledge, also are sometimes difficult to maintain and you cannot have your eye on the load of a pen to see whats goin on in there in public places

  15. Thanks man everyone in this whole thread has been so helpful, learned a lot about certain vaporizers already. I'm still stuck between two vaporizers: MFLB and Vapormax V 8.0 (comes out in November I think, saw it on eBay). Both look great for their prices but what do you think? This question goes out to everybody not just Bluwonton

First things first, buy it directly from the company.  Do not buy used or discounted, there are TONS of fakes out there.  The cost I believe is $100.

Cleaning is a breeze, take a q tip, dip it in ISO alcohol, clean the screen and begin to press the battery inward to burn and quickly dry the unit.  Cleaning the unit is the biggest advantage IMO.  It is easy as hell.

You have a battery, you put the battery in the hole and then you will see a small light indicator in the screen telling you it is heating.  As soon as you press it, take very deep and slow breathes for about 5 Mississippi seconds.  Then take the battery out and exhale.  Shake the unit and repeat.

If you haven't vaped before, it takes time to get use to.  If you pull it like a joint, you won't get high and just waste weed.  If you but the battery in for too long, you will burn the weed, and mess up the screen, which it will be harder to clean.  Burn the screen tons of times, its basically unusable and you will need to get a new one covered by the warranty.

Once again, the unit is cheap in price because it is easy to build.
I had the screen break on me from wear and tear of cleaning it over and over.
I had the lid break off from a simple drop.
Another unit they gave me, the battery hole was not probably shaved off, inserting the battery was difficult, it damaged outside of the battery, and since it didn't inject the battery out automatically, and times it would still be on and burn it.  Messing up the screen mentioned above.

    Then comes the batteries.
You need special batteries, not any old double AA is recommended.
You brought everything and forgot a battery?  Then damn you are in no luck.
The battery life is horrid. Going on a day trip?  Better bring multiple batteries.  And make sure they all have their lids on cause if they come in contact you will feel it.  Also good luck remembering which battery you used and which one you didn't.
This is the biggest gripe about the MFLB.  At one point I had to carry my MFLB in a camera case containing the unit, the brush, 4 batteries and the battery charger.  When you have to do this, it is no longer considered a portable vape.

MFLB is a great unit.  I loved it, and just typing this brings back the memories I had off that little box.
But after a while, you will break it over and over and they will keep sending you one.  You will get sick of waiting for the new unit to arrive.

I say you should really look at alternatives if you want a reliable vape as you mentioned.
If you are patient in waiting for a new box every time yours break whether it be from user error or on their end, then it is worth it without a doubt.

  17. looked up the 8.0 and found nothing of, must be a bunk man, but idk. I watched a video about V 5 and read a little on the interwebs,
it seems simple and decent for its price and what not. I'm sure youd like it, but I read its got a sorta high temp and takes the taste out in a few hits.
I know im raving about the mflb but another thing is the taste it has thats amazing. If it were my choice I'd side with the mflb over almost every vape in the price range, thats just cause I have my doubts on other products, but I will not deny I'm not very informed on this other vape as I haven't used the one youre looking at or read much of it.

  18. If it was me I wouldnt wait for the V 8.0 to come out. I dont think it will be a game changer or anything.

  19. I honestly am rocking the pax. I was in the same position of not wanting to spend much but I'm glad I did. Best purchase I jave made this year thus far.
