  1. Ospreys are usually my go to packs. I just started looking into UL when my boy was born.

I'll ease back into the trails pretty soon and maybe look into it again when we're ready.

  2. Northern VA...the Roller Coaster 🎢

That's awesome man. I can't wait to get back into it.

That lat picture of Harpers Ferry is fantastic. Very surreal.

  4. You are right. I apologise.

  5. No worries.

I have some pictures of Shenandoah National Park in the Blue Ridge Mountains I will post. Try to do a bigger collection this time.
Bored at work. Wish I was walking.

  6. thanks. Yes I was there on a couple sections hopping on the train back home. Cool little place in the world. Laurel who runs the Teahorse hostel is really nice. She gave me a few shuttles from Front Royal and Pen Mar park.

  7. Some day I will walk the trail....wish it started in FL lol

  8. I know there was a thru hiker last year who walked from FL to GA and then hiked Nobo. Wonder if he made it...

  9. Shenandoah National Park from the Southern entrance at Rockfish Gap

Thruhiker season. Actually hiked the entire 107 with about eight of them. We leapfrogged the whole time. Very cool. Bumped in to one later that summer in PA, two in CT, and one in VT. The last three flipflopped after the SNP. Awesome. WP_20140518_20_05_11_Pro.jpg WP_20140519_07_55_27_Pro.jpg tough to tent up. No space. And cold. I only had a liner bag good to 55. It was 30's first two nights of the 107 miles.

What a beautiful place. Saw seven bears. Two close. One fifteen feet off the trail. We had to walk by him because he wasn't moving. Little intimidated. WP_20140520_08_06_14_Pro.jpg

Park isn't blazed like other parts of the trail. They have a lot of these posts. There are blazes, but just not as many. WP_20140519_08_28_56_Pro.jpg

  11. More of the SNP

Nice thing about the SNP in spring and summer, is there are waysides evry 25 miles with food and supplies. You can hike the whole park carrying only a day of food. Blackberry lemonade. WP_20140523_12_09_38_Pro.jpg

    WP_20140523_09_03_33_Pro.jpg

That's Studebaker on the right and Young Gandolf up top. I hiked about 60 miles with them and Roxy the doggie. I ran into YG in PA a few weeks later on my Sobo from Delaware Water Gap to Duncannon PA. We had breakfast in Little Gap. WP_20140524_20_15_45_Pro.jpg

And the northern terminus of the SNP. Another three miles to Rt. 22 where I hitchhiked to Front Royal, VA. From there Laurel from the Teahorse Hostel picked me up and shuttled me to Harpers Ferry. From there a train back home. WP_20140525_12_12_51_Pro.jpg

I can't wait for March. Going back to Rockfish Gap at the Southern terminus and going to hike south to Pearisburg VA. Like 180.

  12. Gearing up for the 29th
    Rockfish gap sobo to Pearisburg
    Like 250 miles about. WP_20150317_007.jpg

  13. Hopped off after 120 in Buchanan. GF dislocated her hip skiing in Vail.

Gonna pickup in Pearisburg and hike north to Buchanan first week in May.

Cold first couple nights. Not a lot of rain.
Snowed. Not a lot of water.

Had a 21,17 and 16 day. Everything else I only did 10 cause I had the time.

  16. That is quite a beautiful trail and I myself would love to take it one day.

  17. Great pics. I always wanted to finish the AT I did PA,NJ, and some of NY, but then I had kids. Maybe in 10 years. lol. Keep hiking. Thanks for sharing the beautiful pics!

  18. I cant wait until I hit the AT, ill be hitting the PCT for a thru hike 3 years down the road, my final goal is to finish the PCT, AT and finally CDT to get the triple crown under my belt. So far i've only finished a thru hike of the superior hiking trail, so I got a lot of practice ahead of me.
