    Hi all;

First post here so please be gentle ;-)

This is my first successful grow, following a failed attempt at a loft grow in the middle of summer - Doh!
(The loft setup is evolving to be more substancial construction to overcome noise and heat issues. But for any newbies out there, I'd stay away from loft grows if you can).

I'm growing 4 autoflower plants in a growtent in my spare room:

    - 60 x 60 x 120 cm grow tent
    - 240w of CFL bulbs in homemade hood
    - passive intake
    - Swift air CF with 230w 4 inch extractor fan
    - Coco/prelite grow medium
    - Coco nutes (at or below the suggested strength)
    - 2 x Northern Lights (fem auto) and 2 x Afghan Kush (fem auto)

According to the seedbank specs, these plants should be ready start to finish in c.9wks.
I know that timings are best case scenario. However, we are now entering week 11 and they still seem a way off being ready to harvest.

Any advice on when to harvest (i.e. should I just ignore the stated timings now and harvest when buds are formed and trichromes are turning clear to amber)?

Anyone else experienced similar timings with these variants?

I've attached a couple of pics for reference.

    Thanks all.

  2. Yea those times are bunk for autos least that's my experience.. it'll still take the same amount of time as a normal photo plant I'd say your looking at another 3 to 4 weeks...

  3. Thanks jumper420.
That's what I figured, but as its my first grow I wanted to be sure!

I was going to stop feeding nutes and just water with plain pH'd water.
Guess I should carry on feeding for at least another week then?

  4. Yea I would those hairs don't even look close to turning orange/tan/brown yet.. Keep updating I'd like to see how this turns out

  5. Also I think the specs they give are for 1000watt grows on the sites, cfl is deff gonna take longer

  6. I would double the amount of lights, that's not enough for 4 plants and more light will mean bigger buds faster.

  7. Doubling the number of lights would be great, but no room to do so on this grow - just following basic grow on growweedeasy
Just dipping my toe in the water with this.
If it's worth the effort, then better kit will follow. for the next grow.
    Will keep updating.......

Dont EVER trust any of those seedbank estimations,

Never seen one be correct, EVER lol

They got a ways to go, weeks.

Edit: this is the downside to growing rudaralis (autos)

If you stick with regular or fem seeds this wont ever happen again.

  9. Hey all

So thought I'd update on the above post.
I'm now at the end of week 12 and pretty sure the plants are ready to harvest.

I added a little extra light (total 300w) for the last couple of weeks and have been flushing with pH'd water for the last week.

Most of the pistills are now amber, though the shorter Afghan's have fattened up more than the taller Northern Lights.

    Any thoughts?

    Attached Files:

  10. I'd say about a week to 2

  11. Yea let them go for atleast another week. I see some white hairs that need to turn brown. Flush thoroughly, give them that 36-48hr dark period before harvesting and your good.

    Nice grow dude.

  12. Cheers GrimelocKXX!

Will continue to flush and give them another week, then a couple of days in the dark"

Does this period of darkness make for danker buds?

  13. It's controversial. No evidence one way or the other. However I could imagine a few hours of dark being beneficial, IIRC light degrades the THC and a bit of darkness would help them replenish a bit.
