I've never had a root canal, but on my first cavity the dentist didn't freeze my nerves properly. I felt the drilling right into the nerve and it was a fucking terrible experience! I got a root canal and they had to go so deep they had to like shave down my tooth so it was like a little peg for a crown and it wasn't that bad. The worst part was I didn't get numbed enough and I could feel it and they had to stop and give me more shots. But after that it wasn't bad at all. Just get laughing gas and don't think about what's goin on RIP to one of the realest homies you could ask for

Make sure that your face is fucking frozen. Seriously, you don't want them to fuck up on the anesthetic, or it will hurt like a bitch. If they do it right though, it isn't so bad
I had one not to long ago.I had a great dentist considering my fear I could not have had a better dentist but it was awful. They numb you so good you don't feel a thing! I was super nervous but it was a breeze! The pain afterwards isn't crazy either. They'll give you meds. Don't worry. â¤ï¸
Not bad at all so I suppose I had a pretty good dentist. I mean after I had mine I went to a concert like right after and it wasn't even an issue for me besides drooling on myself because my face was all numb and shit hahahaha Sent with good vibes
Do crowns look almost identical to your regular teeth? I need two root canals and crowns on say the first two front left teeth, and I want them to look symetrical and even with the rest
Im a major pussy with the dentist.. I dont get weired out by doctors, im fine with blood and stuff.. something about the dentist.. Im such a pussy. Ive been undergoing major amounts of dental work for the past couple months.. Im lined up for four root canals this month, thats the last of the restorative work, finally.. and then Im finishing up with a full set of porcelain veneers so my teeth will finally look perfect. For anything but cleaning, I do the oral sedation. I take a combo of some drugs which make me kinda not fully lucid, and very tired.. then they hit me with the laughing gas, and that combination makes it so im knocked out unless they wake me up for me to move my face or something. Ive come to for some of the VERY painful stuff, but you knock right back out the second you tolerate it even a little bit.. and the best part is how fast it feels like it goes. I go in for 3 to 4 hours at a time, and it honestly feels like ten minutes. It also helps to have a really great dentist, mine is fantastic and was totally catering to my fears about it and everything. Ive heard from friends some horror stories of their dentists so, thats definitely a factor. The oral sedation is definitely worth it if your a pussy like me.
They suck. What they do is, hollow out the inside of your tooth with a drill. My dentist was wearing glasses and i can see little bits of blood and tooth spraying up on his glasses and he would have to stop and clean them. It grossed me out. Then I almost hit him. Because he hit a nerve that the novacaine had not fully affected yet. It felt like 10000 volts of electricty going through my face. I got pissed to say the least. Root canals suck.

Mine didn't really hurt except for the numbing shit wearing off halfway through, but I'd have to say what hurt the most was when the dentist misjudged how many roots were on the tooth and it cost an extra $500. Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
I had one during a walk in examination, they said my options and said they could do the procedure right there. I had a excellent younger guy dentist, The way he talked to me about the process was confident enough for me to go through with it, as I was quite concerned at first. He said well numb you up real good don't worry, and boy did he I cant even recall how many shots he gave me 4-5? Then gave me another small one since I was in the chair for about an hour. Also the fact they told me theyd give me hydrocodone helped ease the situation, the nurse said nah dont worry we'll give you some good hydrocodone to make sure your at ease after the procedure. And how she said that helped me ease into the situation. Cause some places are lucky to give you codeine, more like amped up ibuprofen and send you on the way. The pain wasnt really there afterwards but the fact it feels like I caught a solid punch in the mouth is what gets me, the soreness. They also had a TV in the corner too that I was able to watch whilst he was going to town on my tooth. That helped alot, beats the fuck out of staring at the ceiling. The worse part was sitting in the chair for like 2 hours and stinking up the place with BO cause I went to the Dentist straight after work. The dentist guy did such a good job I shook his hand and thanked him, and the nurse too. They took good care of me.
