Hello all. This is my first poss on grasscity  :hello: I am 20 years old and I am looking to start up a business. I want to run my shop as professionally as possible and I want to have high quality products for low prices. Anyway, my questions are the following:

How would I pitch this to people to get funding?

    Should I hire professional glassblowers?

How much will I need to start up the business?

What manufacturers would I be using?

What should my business plan be?

This is my dream job. I would love nothing more than to be able to pull this off.

And in general, I would love to hear all other insight and tips from you guys. The more information I have the better.

P.S. I'm sure I will come up with a few more questions over time.

  2. Sorry to be that guy but you're in over your head. If you have no experience in the field/business and no capital at all then you're really getting into something you're not ready for, and that goes for any type of business. You should work at a smoke shop first to get to know the business and if you can't get hired at a smoke shop I don't think you're going to be able to run one very well...

I'm really just trying to give some constructive advice that you should really get some experience/capital before you jump into starting a business

  3. You just asked us what your business plan should be, which gives me the idea that you probably arent ready to own a business. If you don't already have a business plan, a pitch (and target audience/person), or any sort of idea of what you're going to do, any sort of business you open will fail. Sorry to be so harsh but it's the truth.

  4. Hahaha fuck your dreams

  5. With zero experience, I would only suggest you get into the field of glassblowing.  Start from the ground up son, then you can incorporate and open up a shop when you got the funds and know how.

  6. Not to be rascist but it seems all the smoke shops in my area (Tacoma, we have many) are mostly small Korean-owned family businesses that seem 2 do alright for themselves. I imagine they must have some sort of underworld corner hold on the market here and they probably all know a lot of the same people/companies for stocking their inventory, etc. They all sell the "spice" wanna-be cannabis for 30 a bag too that gives people brain damage, sure makes em a "killing". But definitely an area I'd stay out of business-wise just because I wouldn't have nearly the same connections as the Kim family down the road, they'd have me out of business within 6 months to a year I'm sure.
