You would be incorrect. Phoenix is the 6th largest city in the United States I believe. We handle things just fine. Crime has been a issue for decades but that is attributable to Phoenix being a gateway for the illegal drug trade that goes from Mexico. We are also the kidnapping capital of the world with many of those kidnapped ending up in Mexico since you can simply drive across the border without a a issue thanks to the El Presidente.

Your comment suggests the fine people of Arizona all grow up in the in some backwoods environment and are hicks. Arizona like anywhere in the US is a amalgam of people from all over. My roots are in California but I left the socialist regmine a long time ago and never looked back. Was born in San Francisco actually.

Actually I was referring to DC and why errywhere isn't like how ya feel it should be dont ya know, you suggested " the fine people of Arizona all grow up in the in some backwoods environment and are hicks", not me

No one will improve because the law is designed to keep guns out of their hands, not give them care. It is designed to protect people. Seriously who do you work for?

"Yes but it is not necessary in these places that are not open country, plus the fact they were not exposed to firearms as young as some people and not at all taught about them in the right context"...you said.

Polite way of saying people who dont live in a major city center are redneck backwoods guys who required this because of the way he grew up.

Dont kid yourself...85% of America lives in a major metropolitan area.

You must not experience the American political system. It is not designed in anyway to care or protect people. Its a miserable failure time and time again. When I say failure its on a failure approaching biblical levels lately. In every regard its broken, malfunctioning, bloated and entirely unnecessary.

Yes except that we were talking about CCW in DC, wow.

In all states virtually you can carry open. CCW is nothing more then carrying it on your belt with a jacket over it. There should not be a course, a fee, a class to do that.

Take Georgia for instance. You can carry openly just fine. Meaning I can have a gun, a rifle whatever slug on my back or on my side as long as its exposed. CCW simply permits me to pull my shirt over it. To accomadate the CCW person in GA you fill out a form and get a permit pay 25 bucks I think. Whats the difference other then mumbo jumbo satisfying the idiots of the nation of the permit? He already had the gun, he already could carry it on his side but to have that luxury of pulling that shirt over it you have to have a permit.

Its a revenue generator and the fools of the country all hold there signs thinking there doing good. Yet to glee of the anti gunites he goes to bed thinking he just made people safer.

You think carrying a deadly weapon should be allowed with no regulation? It should be concealed, you do not need to show everyone you have a weapon, for what?

BTW I have a glock 19 and live in MD where CCW is very constrictive in who it is given to based on good and substantial reason. Also own a Sig M4 .556, plus some lowers of course. You just do not go around to H dealers in DC acting hard, it is easy to live without carrying a firearm in places like this because police forces are pretty large around here and road networks are extensive. And there are no large animals to contend with.

You must be from outside the US or not versed in our gun laws. Right now in nearly all states to hide a weapon is illegal. If you do not have a permit you must carry that weapon in plain site...which people do. Its your right to walk into a establishment with a rifle on your back. In nearly all states that allow people to carry they have some clause that states if the establishment wants no guns on there property since its private they have to put up a sign.

Vegas is a example, Starbucks is a example. They have signs in clear view somewhere on there property that states No Guns Allowed. Never mind the argument against it.

Anyhow to carry it in my pocket in nearly all states I must in some cases pay up to 200 bucks for a class, then fill out some paperwork. Then my local sheriff issues me what is known as a Concealed Carry permit. Now I can put that gun in my pocket legally..before that permit it is illegal.
What is also even more retarded is how you transport it. With a Permit that I had to pay money for I can now transport that weapon in my cabin of my car or on my person in the car. Without a permit I must in many states have it "out of arms reach"...meaning the trunk.

  10.
You must not be versed in the Constitution, I would love to see the part where it states you can walk down the street with a rifle on your back. It states nothing of the sort all it really says is you cannot be denied private access to firearms.

Your word use of "all it really" says is your not versed in it. Show me where it says you can not.

In the US since its founding people have been, currently open carry. Look up "Open Carry" and you will see it clearly defined. In 21 states you can legally per State law "Open Carry". What that means regardless if you like it I can carry a gun.

In 14 states you must have a permit. When I saw permit usually if its like Georgia you simply pay 25 bucks sign a piece of paper since that apparently makes your crowd happy and off you go.

I could go on but 44 states have deemed it your Constitutional right to "Open Carry" and if you feel scared by it just walk the other way.

The US Supreme Court has partially ruled on it stating it is every citizens right to carry arms...they did this in 2008 but they did not talk about Open Carry. That actual ruling has led to the cascade of alot of gun regulation to be abandoned, and the explosion of states expanding on where, how and who can carry weapons. Oh thats the point of my post! HA.

So please learn the laws rather then giving opinion if you chose to argue that one.

  12. It's not that it means nothing. I just think states should be able to have a say on how they want to handle gun control. My only point was that I don't think we will have national gun registry or ban anytime in the near future on a federal scale. Personally, I'm opposed to state gun control laws in my state, but I don't oppose other states imposing regulations if they feel it's necessary. I feel like you keep implying that somehow I'm biased or being misled, but I think you're misinterpreting what I'm saying or I said it in a poor manner. I am not pro gun control on a federal level or in NJ but I'm not opposed to other states exercising their rights to enact gun control if they feel it's necessary. If you still disagree with me then well just have to agree to disagree. I'm not completely opposed to a gun registry on a state level, but it is not something I feel is extremely necessary.

  13. Is there a state where there are strict gun laws?and if not why?
Seems to me it would be a great idea.

Very few..most are California or New England. Even then you can still get them just with issues. For instance nearly any gun I own is outlawed in the state of California. Mainly do to the lack of a safety and high capacity magazines. Easily fixable but no need as I never go to California :)
