TRANSPLANTING 2 GAL. TO 5 GAL. HEMPY BUCKET

  1. I have a 2 gallon hempy bucket that I have always used with no problems and now I have a situation. I have been  growing this way for years but have never seen this before. One of my favorite strains is the OG Kush from Reserva Privada. Never a problem and always a success for me...until now. I grew one with TH Seeds Ultra MK. Both were in 2 gallon hempy buckets with 100% large chunk perlite using GH nutes under 200w LED. The 2 sprouted the same day back in mid June and went into flowering same day which was back in mid July. However the OG did not flower. The MK harvested in mid September and is really good. The OG kept getting taller and taller and outgrew the 4 ft. tall grow tent. It did not actually flower until late Aug. It basically stopped growing but does have flowers. I feel that it is root bound and needs to be transplanted from the 2 gallon to a 5 gallon. I have never done that with a hempy bucket. I believe in doing this the roots will be exposed for a minute or so. Any advice? Has anyone ever done this successfully?  Thanks for looking.

  2. I have noticed that the buds from the middle of the plant seem to be growing bigger while the top buds are very small. I have tried flushing and cutting back on nutes. It is still progressing but ever so slowly. I have a feeling that trying to transplant a plant this old may destroy her. I am reluctant to do so now. Anyone ever transplant this late into flowering? Will start germinating a couple of new seeds this weekend and let the other continue to grow. Perhaps I should upload a picture....

  3. No change, in fact she is getting worse. Will probably cut some of the lower buds that seem to be viable and transplant as a last ditch effort to save her. Very strange and no one seems to know why this is happening.

  4. Have you been cloning from the plant over and over for years? What i mean is, are the cuttings from each new generation? A clone of a clone of a clone, so on and so forth for years? Or do u have a mother from seed u take cuttings from each new grow Or is it a clone from the previous clone you veged?

  5. None of the above. Grown from seed. Its dying quickly...beginning to fall over now. Kinda sad really.

Well just thought I would end this little pitiful thread with a last and final update. Just when I gave up on this plant and thought all was lost, lo and behold it made a comeback. I began to notice that it looked worse right after feeding but really perked up when I flushed it. So I flushed for a few weeks and she really started to develop. The leaves were still canoeing badly and some leaves seemed really shiny while the fan leaves were typically opaque. Only the cola still seems oddly shaped and that may be from the super cropping I did. Anyway it was the longest growing plant I ever grew. It sprouted way back in mid June. Only now after the trichs seem cloudy with some amber, the fan leaves turning yellow and the pistils darkening and curling in, do I begin the process of harvesting here in the beginning of November. The buds got long and tight from what I can see. My favorite strain that I thought was a goner did not disappoint after all.
