Leaves turning yellow gradually (20 days of flowering)

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by halloweener, Oct 5, 2014.

  1. Hey guys,

As this is only my first indoor grow, this is relatively new for me.

This is my haze berry, she's currently in her 20th day of flowering and she has started to turn yellow in many parts.
The leaves overall are turning more light-green and some bottom and middle leaves are turning yellow and wilting.

I've been said it's rather normal in flowering. To be sure I've just flushed her (she has always liked that).
My guess is mag def or nitrogen def? Not sure though.
I also removed all yellowish leaves.

    Here are the variables:
    10 gallon root pouch
2.5 months veg and currently 20 days in flowering.
light soil mix with perlite and what not.
    Lsted her
    defoliated slightly before flowering
using Bcuzz bloom nutes and general veg nutes. 1/4 dosis of bloom mixed xith 1/4th dosis of veg nutes, last time I added some cal/mag as well

Please, have your say and help me :)
you've never dissapointed me thus far :D

Great day to you fellow growers :)

there is a guy who from time to time posts a cut and past everytime a leaf problem question is asked. It lists about 15 or 20 reasons. Everything from too much wind, too much light, cal deficiency ,too much water, too much fertilizer, on and on.

Bad leaves usually bother the grower more than the plant.

My solution is always the same. Let the plant completely dry out. And just sticking your finger in the top two inches is a very poor indicator if the soil down below is dry. Wait until the leaves begin to wilt, then add some tap water and a shot of cal mag. The leaves should perk right back up within a matter of hours.

After that, if the problem continues it is just a guessing game. I have never seen a pot plant with a nitrogen deficiency. And now days in containers with all the crap we pour in there, I doubt it is any kind of nutrient deficiency. Most likely some kind of operator error like too much water or too much fertilizer. Or problem with soil mix that won't drain and stays soggy.

If your plant is flowering , I wouldn't worry about it. Better luck next time.

  3. Looks like the bottom early growth leaves dying off normally. The plant sucks the last of the nutrients out of them then lets them drop. You can save some energy by removing the yellowing leaves. They have lost their ability to process red and blue spectrums of light, Joseph Bienaimé Caventou would ask you to pick them off.

  4. Magnesium I'd say bit early for yellow leaves yet maybe at end after flush but try keep em green til then, healthy plants are less prone to all sorts
