Right now I'm using that foot and a half tall bernzomatic propane torch. It's way too big and I want to switch to butane. So I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a small handheld well functioning torch that heats quickly holds a good amount and won't break the bank haha. Any suggestions thanks. You get what you pay for IMO with butane torches, i would recommend a Vector personally because i like that it has a lifetime warranty and its just a great torch. However, although butanes are cool, wieldy, light, and small you"ll find nothings more reliable than a prop torch
Im in the same boat as you op. Ive looked in 3 headshops and like 4 stores, asking for a ''creme Brule torch" in the stores and nothing. I even tried to order one fRom Amazon but it still didnt ship after 2 months so I cancelled the order. Verry bad luck for me for I guess lol. So ive been using the huge blue benzomatic propane torch with the trigger to ligh itself. I used to be afraid it was going to explode everytime I used it because I used to use one that was like 15 years old haha, so I got a brand new one. Ive heard bed bath and beyond has them, just go around and ask for a "creme Brule torch" , those are good quality and you can refill them with butane. The butane ones dont burn as hot of a flame as the propane ones but it makes no real difference. theye safer too
Bed bath and beyond creme brule torch. Its made by the same people who make vector and comes with a lifetime warranty. I use a e nail but anytime I am on the go I use the bbb torch Sent from my SM-G900P using Grasscity Forum mobile app
Get a vector, or a big shot. Other lesser known brands that I've personally had myself is the scorch torch and the Newport zero, which I highly recommend. That's the one I use now. Make sure when you are getting a torch that you like the flame size, I have encountered countless people who got a torch and didn't take into consideration the flame size later to find out it's just an oversized lighter. I asked to test mine in the shop and they had no problem with that.... Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
when i got my first rig i also got my first torch. the rig is fucking great, the torch well it actually caught on fire so i threw it outside until it burned itself out 15 or 20 mins later. it wasn't all exploding and shooting fire everywhere or anything, but the handle was on fire. also the handle was shooting gas out a little bit. that's what i get for buying the red china special. i have real torch now and i paid like 35$ for it. to me it is money well spent.
www.errlybird.com use code IREP4207 4-20 % OFF so you can get a torch for 50 max wit shipping lifetime warranty just as good as.vector nitros that retail 60plus
Best solution haha. As far as actual torches go I'm a big fan of the Vector Nitro. Kind of expensive, but it's got a really nice sized flame and a lifetime warranty.
Vectors are nice and come with a lifetime warranty but you can get just as good (and with lifetime warranty )from www.errlybird.com use code 'IREP4207' and get 20% Off MSRP is 50 bucks so about 40-45 wit shipping much better then 60-80 for and vector nitro.. I own both and other then the names same torch
Creme brulee torch at Bed, Bath, & Beyond. They'll have good sales soon for the holidays, and you can use coupons on top of that.
No one ever mentions the bigshot 8000 Shits the best torch ever IMO. Twist and ignite, no gases no fiddling with safety's. It just stays on, easy to operate with 1 hand..... Just don't drop it while it's on lol Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
Just picked up a Newport zero and works great. Usually use the propane but seeing if I like butane any better.
I grabbed the small bernz-o-matic table top torch from my local hardware store for like $23. Runs on butane and works great. The last one I had lasted for 4 years before it was packed in a bag wrong and broken.
Amen to that man I got the newport zero. The one thats all chromed out its nice man. really nice flame
