  3. The CDC has had the vaccine for years. The government created the virus a long time ago, and has had a vaccine to it since very recently. The usa government owns the patent to the vaccine. Just like they own the patent for the cure for aids, cancer, and others etc. It's all about the $$$$$, people in power dont give two fucks about anyone else but themselves.

So the REAL doctors on the clip I posted above are "out of the loop," clueless dupes, and some pothead kid on a stoner forum has the REAL answers. [IMG]

    I love Ebola threads

    Way better than television.

Edit: Just found this gem posted on another site.

  8. That looks a bit like some of the stuff posted here by those anti-vaccination loons.

  9. Yeah, there seems to be a bit of overlap.

"There is corruption within the medical field, therefore, everything even close to pertaining it is absolute and total bullshit, and despite what may back it up, is ultimately a gargantuan conspiracy, that people go to school only to have said conspiracy relentless drilled into their heads. Oh, but the dude writing this blog/making this YouTube video, he's 100% legit, and of course has no intentions that are less than altruistic."

I know there's a lot of fishy shit in the world, and the medical field isn't an exception. But come on, people....

I guess it's easier -- and certainly a lot more dramatic -- to believe that everything is just a big conspiracy. Dwelling on that is a good way to fill an otherwise empty life, apparently.

  11. Here in Canada we actually have an experimental vaccine formulated, but it's still being tested, so technically yeah there is no vaccine at this point.

LOL... that representative was an idiot.

The expert (who made it clear he was not a doctor, and could not answer specific questions), specifically said that there "is no scientific evidence" that Ebola is spread by sitting near someone, but he sure tried to spin it that way.

  13. Oh well, Were all gonna die.

    Were all gonna die.

  14.
Fifteen years tops for me, can't wait to get this over with.

  15. They are saying you can't get it on a bus but you may give it to someone else sitting on a bus.  That's spin.  The Representative was trying to wade thru bureaucratic BS and get a straight answer to a simple question.  With the new mandatory quarantine rules in NJ and NY anyone who has been caring for Ebola patients in West Africa must isolate so using the new rules nurses in those states who care for an Ebola patient should be quarantined also but they're not.  It'd be pretty hard to quarantine a nurse for 3 weeks after her shift ends.  The virus doesn't care what country you're exposed in and the rules being made are inconsistent and illogical.  That was his point.

That nurse who was placed under a medically unnecessary quarantine has hired a human rights lawyer and promises to challenge the detention, personally I think she might have a case. It's long been established that we can quarantine people for medical reasons, has been since the days of typhoid Mary, but a medically unjustified quarantine for no reason but hysterical fear is another matter entirely. Can a person be deprived of liberty just because of the unjustified panic of others? If so that sets a nasty precedent.

This think has long been out of hand. For weeks now we've had school districts doing stupid crap, a principle who went to a family funeral in an African nation some 3000 miles or so away from the outbreak was suspended for a quarantine, that was stupid enough, in another case a teacher who went to a conference in Dallas was suspended for a 21 day quarantine by their school. Some 5 million people a day pass through or live in Dallas without a problem but this poor teacher was suspended for it. Just damned stupid.

It was bad enough when it was just at the school district and private employer level, just being sent home from work but without legal force past that, but with States themselves getting into the act and adding legal force to the situation this is really getting out of hand. And it'll do nothing but hurt. The best chance of stopping the outbreak is to flood West Africa with medical personal but if we're going to imprison them for the better part of a month when they come home they are a lot less likely to be willing to go in the first place. This can only hurt, not help.
