When I went to university we had a full scale shutdown plan if 1 person infected with SARS was ever on campus.

I heard an epidemiologist on the radio last night and she remarked that if the ebola virus was transmitted through air, we'd all have it. Good article - http://www.scientificamerican.com/article/fact-or-fiction-the-ebola-virus-will-go-airborne/
I heard on the news that they expect 1.4million cases by the end of the year. Quite odd considering the fact that in the previous years we didn't have more than 200 outbreaks Didn't read OP sry lol.
Call my stupid, but I'm really not worried about Ebola in the slightest... We survived SARS, swine flu, bird flu, the regular seasonal flu that comes around every damn year. What makes this worse?
1.4 million?... Wow.. That's a lot of lost revenue in taxes! Those damn G-men better start crackalackin...😜 Grow With Me: @ http://forum.grasscity.com/indoor-grow-journals/1320174-first-organic-indoorgrow.html Badass Trucks: @ http://forum.grasscity.com/index.php?/topic/1335403-Toyota-Truck-Talk-4x4 Share Colorado: @ http://forum.grasscity.com/index.php?/topic/1335406-OFFICIAL-Colorado-Proud%21 ...“You can never cross the ocean until you have the courage to lose sight of the shore". –Christopher Columbus
Those other things don't kill most people unless they're already sick, young, or elderly. Ebola has the potential of killing a lot of healthy people.
But it's not as contagious as these other diseases, right? Only spread through bodily fluids? Is it spread through saliva too?
My thoughts exactly. I had the same realization just now and it made me respect his name even more. Sent from my HTCONE using Grasscity Forum mobile app
The reason there is such an outbreak in Africa is because of the cultural practices there, i.e, washing and clothing dead bodies in rituals. Ebola requires practically direct contact with an infected person for it to spread, its not airborne even though people like to play scientist and think it is. H1N1 was a much bigger problem than ebola is.
The 12 day death date, the fact that general health is of no issue, and perhaps more terrifying than the first two, is the fact that the symptoms up until like the 8th day, are all symptoms you'd expect of a common cold or the flu. Think of how passive you are with runny noses and headaches. Now imagine those are the only indications that you'll be dead like 4 days later. Are you worried yet?
