Critical Rapido Auto seedling leaves pointing straight up?

  1. Hello,
I have two 65W 6500K CFL's over the Critical Rapido and two more of the same values over my other Auto, Tangelo Rapido. Both of which are about three inches away from the seedlings. They were on a 20/4 light cycle, but i decided to switch it over to 18/6 today. When the Critical R was first growing, the seed was growing along with it as it pushed through the soil and, eventually, it fell off. So began it's making of it's leaves and now i notice they are pointing straight up towards the lights. Like in the shape of the letter 'Y'. Also noticing some darker areas around the end of the little leaves of both plants . I'm not sure if this is good OR bad. Very confused because i decided to Google around some and read a lot of different posts, articles, narratives, shit like that, and got a crap load of different information. So not only did i learn more about seedlings and their illnesses and whatnot, but i STILL CANNOT PINPOINT WHAT'S GOING ON HERE. Is it too much light? I just ordered some Mylar and would hate to increase reflectivity just to find out they're getting TOO much light! All this paranoia is from me reading around so could someone help me suppress this feeling of angst with a little reassurance to the first time grower.

  2. Calm down just let it get older before you start freaking out. It looks normal to me! How far away are your cfls by the way?

  3. They are 3 inches away. Im just gonna give it a few days and see what happens. Dont want to interfere but am glad to be at ease for a little bit.

  4. The deformed set of first leaves may be common for that strain.  I'm guessing that the second set of leaves will start to look normal when they pop out. As far as the leaves pointing up to the light, usually thats a good sign that the plant is happy. People refer to that as "praying to the light". Like foxrider said "calm down" and be patient with your little girls..SW

  5. I think we can def say that it's not much light though. Cfl are not a real powerful light source, you can run light on them 24hrs a day at this point if you felt like it. Three inches is definitely enough space away with cfl as well. You are in the clear as far as ordering mylar goes. Make when they get a little bigger you have a fan on those girls.

  6. Good ventilation is key! You want a nice environment for your plants to grow in! If so, you should have grear results at harvest
