Insomnia: Increasing CBN

    Hello,
     
    I use pot medicinally for a variety of symptoms, but the primary use is insomnia. I've recently tried Mary's Medicinals CBN patches and topical salves and found them to be very effective for insomnia, which inspired me to find a way to increase the amount of CBN in dried pot.
     
    Now I know CBN is a degradation product of THC, and I have no qualms with reducing the amount of THC in my weed to get a higher level of CBN. I've heard of baking it in the oven at around 220F for 1 hour, but this was more in relation to making oils than smoking the actual herb. Does anyone have more information about this?

    not much to offer but I have had older cannabis that put me on my ass from the cbn. a few minutes after vaping my eyelids were quite heavy and sleep seemed like the next step. if you know someone with cannabis ask for older cured out product that is loaded with cbn.

    During decarboxylation, while THCA and CBDA are converting to THC and CBD, respectively, more CBN is produced. For example, before decarbing kief, there is .4% CBN; whereas after 30 minutes of decarbing at @ 240 the CBN is at 1% and it's at 1.4% after 60 minutes.

    By baking your weed, it will most likely evaporate a lot of the THC if you bake it for extended amounts of time over the decarboxylation temperatures. We offer CBN tincture as well as vape cartridge on our site...sleep well and let us know what you have come up with!
