Giving burials to my electronics?

Discussion in 'General' started by Omega369, Sep 29, 2014.

  1. My iPhone 4 is finally about to die so I'm going to upgrade phones soon. I'm just wondering what I'm going to do with my phone once it dies.

It sat in my pocket for many years, around me 24/7. I even sleep with it next to me, and it wakes me up in the morning. I hiked to almost the top of the world with it, and looked onto the the wilderness below. So many bong rips, adventures, bike rides, ladies, drunken nights with friends, I feel bad tossing it out.

Usually if I still have the boxes, I'll store it away in my basement in a dark corner. I don't know what I'm expecting, but it's weird.

Would it be more weird to give it a burial? We do it with animals and people.

I know people and animals have life, spirit and emotions, but my robotic companion felt like something deeper, like a friend or a tumour.

Same with my day one edition working Xbox 360, except all that's seen is me playing video games and masturbating.

i think the problem with burying it is that you might attract horvers

  3. Probably not environmentally acceptable to bury it in the ground

Keep it in a drawer if you still want to keep it, but I know when I upgraded my phone earlier this year they gave me money to trade my old one in

  4. 400 years from now your iphone will be an archaeological dig site. Theyd prob put it in the museum lol

  5. Recycle . Your phone would be more happy repurposed as a hearing aid or vibrator .

Theres no easy way to say goodbye...you have to do it for you both...You take it out in the middle of a lake, late at night, under the pretense youre going on a romantic picnic. Obviously siri will know... but lucky for you she'll choose to not believe, as it is the most likely response. Or alternativly if you were already planning on burying it... When it goes to sleep mode... you know what to do

I hope you disabled her data... she may already have found out about your plans.

RIP iPhone 4. You were a good father, friend and partner.

  14. Nah man, don't bury it.. that's weird. Take it to a taxidermist.

  15. And then hang it over the fire place.

  16. Instead of singing like that creepy mounted bass, I could see porn start playing whenever someone walked by..

  17. You guys are idiots lmao

  18. Phones are spiritual buddhists as a matter of fact. They just need a little help with the reincarnation part. ;)

  19. Put it on a wooden raft. Push it out to sea. Launch a flaming arrow at it.
