Hey guys. This plants about 2 1/2 weeks from germination. This is my first time growing in bubble buckets. Trying to keep the PH around 6.0 ( I'm using ph drop tester - yes I know), however I have not added notes at all yet aside from a very light dose of GH Rapid Start 1-1-1.

It is actually growing seemingly OK, however it's progressively went from green (before adding to dwc) to yellow and now there seems to be browning on the veins.

I was confused with the water level for seedlings and had it about 2 1/2 in. Above pot bottom. I tried moving level down about even with pot and nothing's changed...maybe even yellow-er since.

Any ideas? Last picture is a week ago :/
Also, roots are not yet out of pot which is why level has been slightly raised.

  3. Is this soil or hydro?
What lights are u using and how much, how far from it?
If you're on soil then maybe its too early for nutes... also nutes should be as far as ive heard 2.1.1 cuz the plant uses more N in vegging stage, at the moment this is just a seedling growing roots so i dont know... in soil i wouldnt use nutes that early... not even a small drop of them just in case... Also i dont know what soil u use (if u use soil) some of them have nutes and neutral PH in there already... so more than good for beginning.
If hydro then sorry i dont know nothing about it.
Yellowing could also be cuz of N def, but i cant tell that for sure cuz it starts from plant lower leafs and moves up but yours is just a seedling... Anyways hope u get help and if this post isnt useful then just take it as a bump.

Yeah it's dwc bubble bucket so it's hydro. The only nutes I gave is a rooting enhancer given at a very low dose meant for seedlings. And anyhow, the seedling was yellowing before I gave it the root stuff.

It's under a 150 watt hps which is about 8-10 inches away.

I appreciate your help, I'm usually a soil guy too which is why I have no idea what's going on here but I'm thinking it could be PH related? Hoping for some more info.

  5. Am soil as well, but she looks hungry.

  6. Yeah I was thinking basic N but everywhere I read says autoflowers don't need nutrients for awhile. I'm going to try replacing resivoir and adding a small amt. of flora grow.

    Thanks for the suggestion noiz.

  7. Your little round leaves appear to be gone, thats pretty much when you feed any plant, especially in an artificial environment like dwc. With soil at least the plant will find whatever there is, in dwc she only has what you give her =) best of luck. I am too amateur, impatient and just loving living soil too much to try dwc lol.

  8. what are your res temps? 2.5 weeks and the roots are still not hanging out of the top that's definitely way off. It takes less than a week for a seedling/clone to root a 16 oz solo cup all the through under good conditions.

The plant is small still because the roots are not developed like they should be. Try to keep the res temps at around 60 degrees, the higher they climb the more problems will arise. You can tell if a plant in hydro is hungry for nutes or is not ready fairly easily, when you top the res off with your nutrient solution, wait for the plant to drink some of the water and test the PPM. If the PPM goes up then the plant is drinking the water but not taking up the nutrients in the concentration you provided, which means you are over feeding. If it goes down then the plant is hungry and you could bump it up a little.

From the picture though, I'm not sure if it's from the overhead light or what but it looks like it's been nute burned a bit, and is also dealing with over hydration which is locking the nitrogen uptake.

  9. Yeah I had the water level up high and was top watering so I brought level down and am strictly hand watering til roots get going. I think it was overwatered.

Res temps aren't bad and I didn't nute til after it was yellowing.
