So this is my first grow and my friend thinks that the plant is a male. Is it too soon to tell if its male? its only been three weeks and the light is a 85 watt cree led in a paint bucket with a pc fan in it.. Also ive been wondering if Im gonna need more light?Plants look abit wet since I sprayed a little neem oil on em for the black little pest.

hahaha your friend is not smart is he? but as far as growing goes you made a mistake by letting him know you are growing. do a search for "pics of male plants" and you will see perfectly what you are looking for. That plant is way too young to determine its sex. Tell your friend you killed it and never show him your plants until it is in a baggie, then tell him your doctor got it for you.

3. You'll be able to tell sex a couple of weeks after switching to 12/12.  I'm not familiar with the actual light your using but it should 6500k at18/6 hours on/off put it on a timer. Plant looks OK to me.  Are you putting that top over the bucket? I wouldn't and don't have the fan blowing directly on the plant.

4. Yeah I keep the top on it which is why I think the pest have been thriving with the moist soil and Im currently using a 5000k Bulbso next time I go to home depot i will switch to 6500k bulb, I can still use the 5k bulb with it too with no ill effects right? Im also wondering wen I should start flowering since I dont want to have any kind of space issues.

5. It is kind of small for three weeks but I switched when mine was 7 inches and now it's frekin over 3 feet. No kidding. I'm also using 400 watt HID. So   The usual light is 100 actual watts for the first plant and more is better. I think I read some where that people use 5000k. I don't think it'll hurt.

6. looks like you have a 6 or 7 watt bulb...probably a 85w equivalent. Equivalent doesn't mean anything... always go by actual watts, it will be printed on the bulb. You need at least 40 watts or so in an area that size...gonna be tough to cool though.

7. I think I may have stunted the plants growth since I had it in a red cup and then moved it outside for a week and brought it back inside(pest probably came from outdoors)then it almost died from lack of nutes so I had to sort that out aswell. Anything I can do to maximze the space that I have for the grow?

8. What kind of soil?

9. On the box I think it said it uses  18 or so watts Definitely gonna have to get more since They dont put off much Noticeable heat in the tiny space its in. Could three of these bulbs work for the entire grow or would i need more? I get them 80% off so price isnt really a concern on those.

man you get those for 4$ ?  that's a steal!!...I'd be reselling em on ebay lol. The 7w ones cost like 8 or 9$

I'd use 2 or 3 of those bulbs in there with the domes removed....might need more cooling though.

I saw a thread at rui about those bulbs...a guy used em and did pretty good actually. here's a link   If you read through, they talk about removing the plastic dome off the top. Sometimes you can pop it off after it's warmed up a little...and some ppl said they would wrap a towel around the bulb for a few minutes to warm it up a little more to loosen the glue. You should read though that thread...it might convince you to pick up a bunch of those bulbs and build a bigger grow box with them.

if I could get those bulbs that cheep, I'd buy a dozen or 2.

12. Not a pro. But u shouldn't grow two plants in the same medium. Roots will tangle, and when u go to transplant u will end up killing them both. Separate them now. And put as much light on them as possible, with ventilation.

13. Thanks for the link man gonna give that thread a read right now! And I am gonna try a bigger grow box one day not now tho since the folks visit here twice a month and snoop alot more than id like since it technically is their place lol

Thanks im gonna seperate them right now.

14. Be gentle bro! And try and not disturb the root balls. Don't shake any soil off. I'm subbing dis.

15. Gosh darn I accidently Murdered her   I tried to dig her up and then gently grab her stem which removed the top half from the bottom half. Could it recover from this? I still moved it into a yellow party cup since maybe it *Could* possibly come back from this but if not all isnt lost since it is bagseed.. This is practice anywho since Im gonna get some Northern lights seeds and try and Outdoor grow next year :metal:

16. Damn! :-( so all roots are lost? Try and sink it in soil well watered. Maybe new roots will form. No promise. Are both dead? Or just the one? I tried growing my tops after topping in light medium not over an inch. And they stayed alive till I actually threw them out. So maybe, just maybe roots will form.

17. That is a lot of stress, I would not be surprised if it herms on you. Saving a plant takes a lot of work, maybe she will hang in there. get her going now and baby her, She was still in veg right? If not, consider taking her back.

18. I hope it bounces back and yes she was still in veg. how long will recovery take if it can?

19. Here is a pic of the two tops in the little dish. Jus an experiment, but I threw them out over a month ago. They were at least two weeks old in that pic.
