Just got a water hash oil rig with ceramic nail purchased ceramic carb for it. Im confused on how it works. If I heat up the nail and place the dab in with then cover with the carb it works ok but the bho still burns off quickly. Im thinking I should put the bho on the nail and cover with the carb then heat, Is this correct?
You heat the nail... cover it with dome... and lastly you add the dab. otherwise you're burning everything before you even inhale
if its burning off too quickly, the ceramic nail is getting too hot or you dont have enoug concentrate on your tool for a full size hit.the technique you were doing is correct, just gotta find that perfect temp range.
you heat the nail.. .cover it with the dome like i said... look at your first picture...instead of an opening like traditional glass on glass dab rigs work, they give you a long narrow tube, therefore you need a long dab piece to stick into there.. or improvise with a paperclip if you can reach lol
so basically stick the dab down that little hole on the carb cap( the hole is tiny, maybe 1.5mm at the most)
cheaper than titanium nail, around $20 for nail and carb. Taste way better than titanium nail too. I don't think it' possible to get the dab down that hole without making huge mess
try putting a little on an unravel led paperclip should be small enough. idk man that is a weird setup lol
thats why I just load the nail and place the cap on before I heat. Seems effective, just wanted to know if there was a better way. When I do it this way I can get a low temp dab because the bong will start to fill with vapor well before nail turns red(how I was doing before, I would heat nail to around 500F then drop the dab on but the dab would burn off quickly, making the carb useless. My lungs are weak so I can't take a megaman sized hit anymore unless I want to cough up a lung or give up my lunch) Ill try a paperclip and see if I can get some bho down that whole. Im thinking only shatter would work because i can shape it to my needs. I have the regular nail like the one you posted but it seems like too much work. Im a lazy smoker
the steps are: 1. load a dab on a dabbing tool, you can use a paper clip if you are desprate 2. set aside the dab and grab your tourch 3. proceed to heat up the nail 4. take the dab, once every thing has melted off into the nail cover the nail with the carb cap. 5. ????? 6. profit

What do you mean by the bho heats off quickly? if it's just instantly vaporizing when you touch it to the nail it's too hot. At an ideal temp your dab will pool up on the nail and then you put the carb cap on.
OMG, don't listen to anyone in this thread man. You have a Domeless nail, you aren't supposed to use a dome with that nail. That thing that goes on top is a carb cap. You heat the nail first, then you have to let it cool a little, if it's too hot the oil will burn too fast and scorch your throat. When it cools a little you start pulling on the rig and dab the oil onto the nail. Then put the carb cap on. The cap lets the oil burn off at a lower temp (it creates a vacuum) that lets you dab at a lower temperature which is better for flavor.
