So this is frustrating me enough to the point where I had to sign up for a forum and ask for help. I have a double fritted water pipe with a turbine disc splash guard. Had it for about 5 months now and have been smoking herb and moles through it religiously just changing water as need be. This past week I used my buddies adapter and smoked some oil through it. Then proceeded to keep smoking until I noticed major drag on my hits. I believe the oil has caused the resin in the water to coagulate within the fritted percs.I've ran boiling hot water through it, warm iso and salt shakes for 20 minutes or so, and soaked it over night with grunge off. All of them have given me temporary results but it clogs right back up within 2 to 3 hits. Its so damn aggravating and I would really appreciate any help I can get. This is my first fritted perc piece and I fear I made a big mistake getting one with two discs and no direct way of cleaning it. Are there any products that will literally disolve/eat the resin? Cuz there are chunks stuck in between the two fritted percs that aren't going anywhere no matter how much I shake them with iso 😤

  2. Hot water + pressure washer? Just a hypothesis

  3. Haven't thought to use a pressure washer tho I imagine it won't function any better than my bath tub. Turbine disc on top and stemless so I imagine it would just spray right back out and not force its way up the tube. I'm really looking for a heavy duty chemical that is going to turn the large chunks of resin that have built up in the fritted discs into oblivion.

  4. Dam dude I've always heard the fritted discs get clogged easy but I never thought it'd be that bad. You've tried everything i could suggest. Just keep dumping ISO and salt in every way you can and shake the bejeebus out of it. Soak overnight in grunge off like you said. Maybe you just have to keep going at it. I'm sure you'll figure it out but let this be a lesson to clean your piece as religiously as you smoke it ;)

  6. just continue soaking it in warm (80-90 degrees if you have a hot plate) alcohol and it will dissolve out

  8. If you're using hot water it's got to be much hotter than what a tap like from the tub can give.  I've heard that simple green works wonders with bong cleaning.

  9. Get a bottle of Orange Chronic. Spray it in and shake it around for 5 minutes and then rinse it with really hot pressured water and it should be good. I've cleaned out the worst of bongs with that method.

  10. Leave it soak for ages, shaking every so often. Or leave it soak in Acetone, but you must rince it out really well and let it dry for a while

  11. Right on that's what I've been figuring is might just have to wait this one out and continuously soak it in solutions. I'll post a pic once I get on to a comp not sure how go do it from my phone but thank you all for the advice. Never heard of Rezblock but I'm willing to give anything a shot. Once I get this baby clean I'm gonna get a carbon filter bowl into an ashcatcher into a precooler 😤😡😖

  12. Imo id go with heat. Iso and salt has always done the trick but u say uve been there so not much to say on that. I would experiment with (hate to say it) putting it thru a good boil. That really sucks tho. Note to self dont buy a fritted peice.

  13. Grunge off will do it over night.

  14. Yeah if I ever were to get a fritted again it would have to be fully worked and something I smoke out of on special occasions. Definitely don't think they were intended for the type of abuse I've put it through.

  15. So it's not 100% but I got a bucket of oxiclean and boy oh boy will I never doubt Billy Mays again. The stuff like oxidates and literally pushed the resin out with the foam. I'm sure the other stuff I did must have loosened it up but that just took the cake hands down.

  16. That's worth writing down^.  One of the things I consider when buying a new piece is how easy it will be to clean.  I have always stayed away from pieces with multiple percs.  I would consider buying a fritted in the future, only because I clean my pieces often though.
