    Hey,

This is my first ever grow.
Just one measly plant from a seed found in a baggie.

I never actually expected for anything to come out of it because it's planted outdoors against a wall. But it got decent sized. (on one side heh)

    When to harvest?
The plant looks delicious right now, but it has a few problems. The weather is getting really cold. Nights especially. Although the forecast for the next few weeks are half sunny half cloudy with average 15-22*C (7-13*C at night), it might be necessary to harvest soon. (also rain is a problem)

I have already encountered gray mold, because the buds are very dense so it easily develops inside.
So I have cut 30% of the plant away already. Including lots of leaves for the buds to get more sun.
A big issue is that the mold has eaten into the main stem/stalk. I cleaned it away but now it has a 1cm sized wound cutting into it's flesh. Is that a problem? Could it rot?

Almost all of the leaves, and some stalks, are also turning purple. I assume that's because of the cold.
Bottom leaves are turning yellow and falling off. Also because of the cold and because that usually happens at later flowering stage?
But the hairs are still white everywhere. Maybe the top main bud has slightly brownish tint to them, but otherwise they are all white.

Here are some pics after cutting off mold.

    So what to do?
Maybe leave it 1-2 more weeks then harvest?
I'm planning to check for mold daily, but can I do anything else? Like some sprays maybe?

    Thank you  :smoke:

  2. Just found more mold :(
Tiny bits just randomly appear. And its not raining or that cold either.
    Curse you mold.

On a side note I find one small seed growing on one of the buds. Just one. Weird.
I'm calling it the chose one.

  3. Suddenly over two days most hairs have turned brown and aren't pointing up as much anymore.
Can this be caused by anything else, like damaged plant or mold?

  4. I strongly advise against smoking mold!!!

Botrytis can spread very very fast. Next season, maybe get some proper and mold resistant genetics. You've gotten the 'feel' for the plant now, right? Cool!

You can harvest her now, but you'll barely notice an effect when you smoke it. My advise to you: Harvest, dry slowly and cure for at least 3 months in a glass jar. Then at least you'll have something to smoke and should taste fine. The effect however will be very mild. But better than nothing.

And much safer than smoking botrytis infested inflorescences.

Don't smoke rot! That's just plain stupid!

  5. Why will it be mild? Because it's not fully developed? So why not leave it a week or two more? Because mold will fuck it over even more?

  6. Yes. If you've been having that many mold problems, and you really want something smokable, I'd harvest now if I were you.

Do not smoke mold! It's better to yield nothing and chalk it up to an experience gaining grow rather than to get a respritory infection from smoking mold.

Better luck next time dude. :/

    FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!

I immediately put them to dry like suggested.
And the fucking mold is everywhere. I'm so bloody mad.

I'm drying in a huge closet.
    It's dark.
    The temperature is at 20*C.
I have a big fan blowing air in at the other side so its constantly being circulated in and out.
Yet the mold keeps appearing, killing bud by bud every day.

    What can I do?
I can't just keep cutting buds off every day. The whole plant is looking so pathetic. It saddens me. I feel bad for what horrors I have let happen to it. Months of care all being puked upon.

    Please help!
Can I maybe dry them in an oven, or water cure them, or something, so that I at least have a few buds left at the end? :(

    Thank you

  8. Yo, why take the chance. Mold is growing before we can see it. Just go buy some weed and try again. Let it all go and learn from your mistakes.

    Charge it to the game.

  9. If I were you I'd bail. You don't want a respitory infection...

    Better luck next time dude.

  10. You don't want something that thrives in dark damp places...guess what your lungs are? Dark, damp

  11. Yeah of course. The mold isn't actually visible until it forms during the night.
So I'm going to remove all the mold I can see and water cure the rest for 3-5 days, then dry it in an oven or with a fast blowing fan so that I won't get mold back after water curing. That way I'd at least have something.

    Thanks for all the help
